Hinata sighed as he picked up the sign from outside the store and brought it into the coffee shop.

It had been busy day and he was ready to just go upstairs and flop on his bed.

When he finished wiping down the last table and locked up, the ginger opened the back door and headed up the spiral staircase which lead him to the apartment upstairs.

"About time you finished~"

Hinata just sighed as he grumbled at his roommate.

"Tooru, if you weren't on a stupid date then I would've finished quicker."

The older man just shrugged as he pointed to the oven.

"Well Iwa-chan almost never agrees to dates so of course I'm going to go!"

Hinata just sighed as he saw homemade pizza and pulled himself a slice and went to sit on the sofa with Oikawa.

"Fair enough I guess, the pizza's good by the way."

Oikawa beamed happily before going on a rant about how he wanted to be the perfect husband for his love which was why he learnt how to cook and bake.

"Although I'll never make a coffee as good as yours." he grumbled and Hinata laughed.

"Don't be silly, your coffee's are wonderful too."

Oikawa sighed and shook his head.

"No, Iwa-chan still says your coffee is better so I still need practice."

Hinata just shrugged again and they kept chatting about Oikawa's date.

"When are you gonna get a partner Shouyou?"

Hinata shook his head with an awkward laugh.

"I already said, I'm not going to date anyone else."

But Oikawa just sighed.

"But you're literally amazing Shouyou! I don't understand why stupid Tobio-chan decided to choose his volleyball over you but it's his loss!"

Hinata sighed at the mention of his ex before going to get another slice of pizza.

"We both decided it was for the best. He and Toshi were both scouted for Brazil and I wanted to stay here for Uni. We broke it off and we're both doing great!"

Hinata had broken up with his first boyfriend almost five years ago and the ginger hasn't dated anyone since.

Maybe it was because he wasn't sure if he could love anyone the same. After all, anyone who was rowdy, loud, or overly expressive reminded him of his ex. And when he was reminded of Kageyama, the truth was that no one had a passion as strong as he did for volleyball.

The ginger really did love how his ex-boyfriend would constantly talk about volleyball and it was that rare side that made Hinata blush.

"I get it, you like passionate people, but why not someone who's passionate but different? Like Kenma? He's passionate about his games but he's quiet."

Hinata just laughed.

"I love how you're just ignoring Kuroo's existence."

Oikawa laughed too as they finished eating and cleaned up.

"Whatever, Kenma ignores him half the time anyway."

"Like Iwaizumi with you?" Hinata giggled and Oikawa looked offended.

"Okay you didn't have to go that far!"

When they finished, Hinata grabbed his guitar and sat on the rocking chair Oikawa insisted to buy as a gentle sound rocked the room.

"Here."

Oikawa sat two mugs of hot chocolates down as they settled down for the night.

"But really Shouyou, no one really ever has their first partner as their last. I mean, look at me! I knew Iwa-chan for like, forever but we didn't go out until after I dated like half the girls in high school and Uni."

Hinata just kept strumming the strings as he let out a soft smile.

"I know Tooru, I moved on already but it's the case that I can't find anyone who I want to go out with."

The gentle evening music came to an end as Hinata went into the bathroom to shower and Oikawa thought about the ginger's words.

"So I just gotta introduce more people?"

The next day was Thursday and that meant the store was going to be relatively quiet as Hinata sat behind the counter.

*clinkle*

The door opened as an old lady walked in with her cane and Hinata hopped over to help her inside.

"Good afternoon Haruhana-san!"

Hinata sat the woman down in a comfortable sofa chair as he opened the nearby window to let the sounds of birds chattering keep her company.

"Good afternoon my dear, I'm just here for the usual."

Hinata smiled and put her cane to the side before going to made her a cortado.

He shook up the expresso quickly as he appreciated the sun shining in. It was going to be spring soon and that meant the park next door with its small forest would be filled with laughing children.

Filling the rest of the mug with steamed milk, Hinata smiled as he brought the hot beverage to the waiting woman.

"One cortado, freshly made. Would you like a slice of cake? I recommend the cheesecake since Tooru made a new recipe yesterday that isn't too sweet."

Haruhana, or Mrs Ushijima, smiled and gave a gentle nod.

"I would love some dear, thank you."

Since the shop was mostly quiet, with Wednesday and Sunday being the exception because of the weekly markets, Hinata usually dealt with regulars. And since he loved everyone, Hinata memorized everyone by name and favorite order as he sat with the woman and kept her company.

"My grandson texted me yesterday about their winning match. Are you and that Kageyama kid still talking?"

Hinata laughed and nodded saying they still texted each other once in a while about key events. After all, they were still good friends.

"Ah good, but dearie, when are you going to get a partner?"

Hinata just laughed and commented that Oikawa had said the same thing and Haruhana chuckled.

"Well he's right you know! You're still young! But it's about time you get yourself someone!"

Hinata laughed again as he closed the window, the afternoon air was said to be cold after all.

"I'll tell you the second I find someone okay?"

"You must!"

They chatted a bit more before the sound of the bell twinkled across the shop.

"Yahoo~ I'm back with new customers!"

Hinata turned to see Oikawa waving and was followered by three others.

They were all rather tall in comparison to Hinata although that wasn't that hard, but what caught Hinata's attention was the guy who almost hit his doorframe.

A man with snow white hair stood there, almost intimidatingly as he turned to face Hinata and the ginger felt air no longer exist in his lungs.

His stomach fluttered a little and Hinata couldn't help, but get lost in the moment.
