BAMMM

Hinata slammed the volleyball down in a straight spike as hard as he could before turning to face his setter Kageyama with starry eyes.

They were training against Inarizaki and had finished their game so they were now just warming down.

Kageyama as usual remained completely uninterested in the sunshine and instead just have the ginger a nod before heading over to talk to Enoshita.

A sad feeling gnawed at Hinata's chest but before he could even sigh, the Miya twins were immediately around the ginger, asking a storm of questions which made Hinata feel better.

Mumbling a little as he answered them all, Hinata suddenly stilled as he felt fingers in his hair.

The hand was soothing and calm but before Hinata could see who was giving him affection, the twins were giving him a horrified look.

Peeking up, Hinata saw Kita, the captain of Inarizaki there, with his calloused hands still patting Hinata's ginger locks that were still fluffy despite being a bit damp from the match.

"I have never seen so much affection come out..."

"of the captain and it's scary...."

The twins finished off each other's sentences as they backed away slowly but Hinata didn't even care to notice since he was roo busy lighting up happily and just kept smiling.

The training day is over since they warmed down and stretched properly.

"Damn the coach is late..." Muttered Daichi and Asahi joined the conversation.

"Why did it have to go again?"

Coaches usually just sit in the parking lot all day so it was rather unusual.

"The driver had to send his family to the airport but he should've been back by now?" was the reply as they looked at the time.

"Why don't you call him?"

The rest of the team were chattering to themselves as they waited for Daichi. Hinata once again tried to talk to Kageyama but as always, unless it was volleyball, he was with Enoshita.

He sighed to see what the others were doing before his eyes landed on Kita who was standing next to Daichi. As the Inarizaki captain, he was there to see them off but the confusion of coaches now painted a face of worry on the captain's face.

Hinata walked when he saw Kita's worried face and smiled.

"It's okay. I think all of us have train passes on us and if not, we can always buy a ticket."

Kita smiled and nodded before blushing as Hinata beamed.

"I'm glad you're happy again." Daichi smiled and Hinata tilted his head

"When was I sad?"

The sky darkened as clouds built up and the Karasuno captain reached for his backpack and pulled out an umbrella.

"Oh I thought you were upset at Kageyama since he and Enoshita started dating last mon-ACK!!!!" He yelped as Suga karate chopped his stomach.

Hinata looked shocked as he held his hands still from trembling.

"Baby..." Suga started, unsure what to do as the scene he didn't want to see was now I'm front of him.

Hinata trembling from heartbreak and tears.

"It's so obvious...." the ginger murmured as his shoulder hunched in on themselves.

"I'm just too stupid and blind to see...."

Hinata smiled weakly since somewhere in his mind, he did know already. He just didn't want to believe it.

"I'll catch the train home...." he suddenly said, backing away and Daichi looked worried. "The coach should be here in half an hou-"

"I..." Hinata interrupted before babbling. "I... Need to feed the umm... Plant."

It took everything to not cry in front of the captains before Hinata turned heel and ran off as fast as he could with his gym back wacking his side.

Kita looked up at the sky before turning to Suga. "I'll walk him there so he doesn't get lost."

Grabbing his umbrella, he opened it before giving Suga a nod and the mother crow nodded back.

"Okay..."

Hinata was still running until he was out of breath and when he finally stopped, he was unsure where he was.

Trying to find the station, it started to rain and the white noise of water hitting concrete roads only made the day worse for Hinata.

Leaning against the side of a building, Hinata looked ap as rain drops fell onto his face, hiding the warm drops that fall.

"Hey..."

He turned to see Kita standing there pointing the umbrella over his head, shielding the ginger from the cold rain as he leaned close to wipe the tears away.

"Lost?"

Hinata nodded and Kita hugged him, feeling the ginger's heated body underneath the cold clothes press against him as boy trembled in heartbreak.

"Lost in more ways than one...." was the pained reply as Hinata raised his arms and hugged back.

Just like that, the two held each other tight as they were shielded from everyone's view by the heavy rain. The white noise drowning out the sound of sobbing as Hinata buried his face in Kita's chest as they relaxed in each other's warmth.

When all his feelings were cried out, Hinata felt a little faint from the release as he fell forward but Kita held him tightly.

Confidence once again started to return and Hinata managed to smile before pulling back.

Kita smiled back before holding the ginger's hand and gently tugged it so the captain cold wrap an arm around Hinata's shoulders.

"I'll show you the way home okay?"

Hinata's already red face that was bright from crying suddenly glowed a little before nodding and hidden from the world's view, they walked together under the umbrella in the rain home.
