The reality was that at first, Yamaguchi and Kageyama hung out to talk about serves but they eventually found that they liked each other's presence than their usual partner.

For Yamaguchi, Tsukishima gave him no attention at all and the only thing that kept Yamaguchi tied to him was the fact he was allowed to call him "Tsukki" and the fact he felt obligated as the only one who knew Tsukishima's past.

But Yamaguchi always felt deprived of attention because of this. He didn't require it as he liked peace and quiet but he always secretly wished for a little more fuss.

And Kageyama gave that to him, quiet most of the time but when things like volleyball or meat buns or silly simple things, he would become chatty for a brief moment and give Yamaguchi all the attention he wanted.

As for Kageyama, as fun as it was to have Hinata argue to his every word, he really just wanted a time where he can sort out his own thoughts uninterrupted and talk after his rant. Yamaguchi's patience grew on the stifling setter and he quickly craved for Yamaguchi's attention rather than the jumping ginger's.

It has been a few months since they first started talking and now....

They had both started to get feelings for each other despite having their original feelings set in Tsukishima and Hinata. They were both upset because they thought the other liked their partners.

As for Tsukishima, he really did love Yamaguchi's company. It was the only thing that served as a small reason to keep going. He was so upset when his brother lied to him that dark thoughts hovered around him. Yamaguchi was the one who served to help him through by just keeping him company.

And Hinata, he fell for Kageyama because he became emotionally attached when his body became physically attached to their volleyball play. His reasons were simple and small but when he realized he fell in love, feelings just kept pouring out. It made him happy that Kageyama accepted at first, Hinata wasn't good at expressing the love without wanting to blush bright red so instead, he picked fights.

Every opportunity, the would challenge Kageyama to a competition and have heated arguments at every turn. It made him happy to do so however until Kageyama started to not talk as much lately.

The fights decreased but Hinata told himself it was okay, that the feelings were strong so he simply turned a blind eye to the flaws.

Until today that was.

"How long...?" Hinata sniffled and Tsukishima sighed. "about a month ago was when Yamaguchi's excuses started."

The awkward tension between the two was enough to piss Tsukishima off as he turned his heel around.

"I'm off, I can't even go to my café because of those two." he grumbled and Hinata scrambled up. "wait!!!"

Tsukishima looks over his shoulder briefly to see Hinata grabbing his stuff and wiping his tears away with a smile.

"I'll show you another café!"

The smile's fake...

"Mum showed me it and I think it had your favorite inside!"

Stop smiling idiot... If it hurts then frown!

"It's not too far and I'll pay!"

Stupid shrimp, think about yourself first....

"So do you wanna go?"

Whatever I guess....

Tsukishima finally looked over at Hinata as he replied, "sure...."

"Great!" shrilled Hinata a little surprised. He was expecting to be turned down like the usual with Kageyama but the salty bean pole actually accepted.

Although then again, I do know he loves strawberry shortcake.

That's kinda...cute...

The ginger jumped into their air with joy as he finally got company and lead the way to the store.

Along the way, Hinata happily jumped around in joy as he just talked about anything and everything. Tsukishima was actually listening to him and nodding along, not saying much but seemed remotely interested.

After a few minutes, they arrived outside the side street café Hinata's mom liked and opened the door to let Tsukishima through. The blonde instead opened the door more on his own and refused to move unless Hinata went in first.

He blushed at Tsukishima's unusually nice gesture and walked in before pointing at a table for two by the window corner.

Tsukishima nodded and walked over as Hinata went to thrift through the cakes.

"Oh hello Shouyou!" the lady smiled and Hinata waved.

"Oh hi!"

"Not with your mother? That's unusual." the lady laughed heartily as she was use to a different Hinata.

"I'm with my team mate today!" Hinata smiled happily as he pointed to a few different cakes.

There was one in particular that caught his attention and he giggled as he whispered to the lady.

"Could I get this one to go later?"

She nodded and Hinata returned to the table with the blonde looking off onto the distance with a pained expression.

He's probably thinking about Yamaguchi... I wonder if he's hurt like I am? Well then I'll distract him for now.

"Sorry did I take long?" he smiled as he sat down.

Tsukishima took off his headphones and shook his head. "No, I was thinking. This place is a lot closer than I thought, it's more peaceful than my usual café."

Hinata nodded excitedly. "yeah! Mom always brings me and Natsu here because we like the hot chocolate here! They make it with melted marshmallow whipped cream and caramel powder so it's super good!"

He bounced happily and Tsukishima relaxed finally as he listened to the happy rambling.

"Here you go Shouyou!" the lady came over with the tray of cakes and drinks and Hinata's eyes sparkled as he saw his hot chocolate.

"Thank you!!!!"

He smiled as he put a pink drink in front of Tsukishima along with a strawberry shortcake and a strawberry and cream tart.

Tsukishima glanced skeptically at the drink but leaned down to take a sip as Hinata tucked into his own dessert and made quiet happy squeals.

I guess it won't hurt to try it...
