*2 years later*

The slight movement next to her made the blonde slowly open her eyes. Her wife was moving around restlessly trying to find a comfortable spot to sleep in. She waited until she had settled on her right side with her back facing her. This gave Kristin the opportunity to rest her arm on Idinas waist and place her hand on the slightly bump that Idinas body started to show. The brunette hated the fact that her body was changing, but Kristin only could find the joy in watching her wife grow a beautiful miracle in her uterus. After a while Idinas became restless again, but this time it resulted in waking the brunette up. Kristin patiently waiting until Idina open her eyes before leaning closer to the brunette. A pair of sleepy green eyes scanned around the room before meeting Kristins eyes. A small smile appeared on Idinas face and soon enough Kristins lips were locked with the brunettes. "Goodmorning my beautiful darling" Idina whispered softly causing Kristins smile to grow wider. "goodmorning, today is the big day" the blonde spoke softly and Idina nodded gently placing her own hand on her stomach. "It's a girl, I can feel it" the brunette suddenly states looking up at Kristin. "Well, we will find out in a few hours" the blonde just simply answer before getting herself up from the bed. "I'm serious Kris, I know it" the brunette repeats again causing the blonde to meet her eyes again. "sure whatever you think darling, come let's shower" 

Several hours later the couple is nervously waiting in the waitingroom of the gynecologist. Kristin noticed the brunettes leg starting to shake so she gently placed her hand on her leg. "I just hope everything is okay" the brunette softly whispered anxiously looking around the room. "It will be fine, our baby will be fine" the blonde gently said giving her thigh a little squeeze. It doesn't take long for the assitent to call Idinas name and right before entering the room Kristins slides her hand into Idinas hand. The couple sits down in front of the female gynecologist after shaking her hand. She asks Idina some question about how she is feeling and how she has been coping with everything. Idina simply answers all the question and Kristin jumps in where necessary. "Are you ready to see your baby?" the woman asks and both nod eagerly. Out of habit Kristin grabs Idinas hand while helping her stand up and leading her to the check up table. Idina lets out a shaky breath while she unbottuns her jeans and rolls up her shirt to make her belly free. "It's a little cold" the woman annouces and Idina freezes a second when she brings the echoe to her belly. After a few swipes the black mass on the screen changes to the video of their baby inside and Kristin let's a gasp escape from her mouth. Idina looks over and their eyes meet a second before both focussing on the moving screen in front of them. "Do you want to know the gender?" she woman gently asks while looking from Idina to Kristin. Both of the women give her a small nod and watch the monitor again. "Here are two little hands, with ten little fingers. Moving on to two small feet with 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, yes 10 little toes. And.." she pauses for a second taking a closer look at the screen. "And she is a girl" she smiles after a few seconds and the tears they had been holding back start falling down both of their cheeks. "See I told you" Idina chuckles between sobs before kissing her wifes lips. "we are having a baby girl"

The drive home had been silence but that was mainly because Kristin was focussing on the road and Idina was starting at the ultrasound in her hands. They were having a baby girl. The news didn't seem to be quite real yet, but the baby was healthy and happy. When Kristin reached the next red trafic light she looked beside her to find Idina asleep. The blonde couldn't help to smile when she watched her wife dangling against the side of the car with the ultrasound in her hand. Idina had been more tired since she was pregnant and eventhough she didn't want to give in she would just randomly fall asleep when she could. Kristin didn't blame her because she was literally carrying a baby in her body so the blonde just tucked her in everytime she would find the brunette asleep anywhere. A few minutes later she parked the car in front of their house. "Dee, we're home" the blonde gently nudged the brunette who let out a soft groan but opened her eyes. "You can sleep upstairs and I can make diner" the blonde stated and Idina just nodded while they made their way up. When they got inside Idina didn't even seem to fight the fact that she was tired like she normally did. She managed to make her way to the bedroom, but that was about it. When Kristin finished preparing the food for diner she went to check on idina to find her in the middle of the bed with her shoes still on. The blonde slowly untied Idinas shoes and managed to get her out of the blouse she was wearing leaving her in her jeans and a top. After that she tucked the brunette in and kissed her forehead. She closed the door behind her and made her way to the kitchen again. Luna was coming over with Vanessa so Kristin decided to make something simple for diner. Potatoes, vegetables and chicken probably the simples choice. The food was warming up on the stove when the intercom went off. The blonde turned the stove to the lowest level before answering the door. A few minutes later Luna and Vanessa walk in whom both get greeted with a hug from the blonde. Luna sat herself down at the kitchen table in front of her best friend. The kitchen table was in a position that made it easy to talk with eachother while someone was in the kitchen so it was easy to hold a conversation. "Is Idina home?" Luna suddenly asks and the blonde nods. "She is asleep, the baby is taking her energy" she breathed out and the younger girl just nodded. "But diner is ready, so I have to go wake her up. Can you set the table?" both girls nodded and Kristin dissapeared to the bedroom. 

Sometimes you gotta appreciate what you've overcome instead looking down on the things that hold you back.

It was a few hours after diner and it's was still warm outside. The blonde watched the brunette sitting in the garden watching Luna laugh with her friend in the hottub. Her hand was resting on the slight bump that grew in the past couple weeks. The blonde stood in the doorframe of their house taking in the scene in front of her.

Even when you just want to hold on to everything you love sometimes it's better to let it go. 

She walked over to her wife gently placing a kiss on the top of her head causing her to look up and smile. She slowly lowered herself next to the brunette placing her hand on Idinas hand. "I love you" kristin smiled before gently kissing Idinas lips. The brunette shifted herself to lay down placing her head in kristins lab and her hand resting on her stomach. The sun was setting down and she couldn't help to smile at the giggling of the two girls in the hottub. She looked down at her wife on her legs and in that moment she realised that she had it all. 

Because things tend to turn out better that way, and if they don't.. Well then you learn to live without.
