23. as long as you're mine

IDINAS POV

First act just ended and we have a 30 minutes break. Eventhough 30 minutes seems kinda long everybody backstages is always rushing and running around. I make my way to my dressingroom to get myself into the second act dress and to touch up the green. Once Joby got me in the dress I sit down on my make up chair for graig to fix my green spray. I can hear the door grind and when I look up I see Kristin walking in in the reflection of my mirror. "Hey stranger" she smiles as she sits down on my couch. From the corner of my eye I can see Joby and graig making a face but I'm so tired to react to it. "I swear this was one of your best defying gravity performances ever" she bubbles as she swings the wand in her hand. "thank you hun" I smile as I feel my cheeks burn up. Thank god for the green make up. "10 minute call" the voice of the stagemanager echoes through the hall. Graig brushes one last time against my cheek and I feel joby fixng my dress before I walk out of my dressingroom following Kristin. She slips her hand into mine causing me to tense. I quickly let go of her hand looking around me if no one saw. "Dee what's wrong" she whispers knowing I'm overreacting. "Nothing, it's nothing. Have fun the second act" I hug her before going to my own spot. The loud music starts playing and soon enough my mind goes into Elphaba mode.

KRISTINS POV

As soon as I finish Glindas version of I'm not that girl I run off stage for my quick change. While changing I can hear the music playing.

Idina her voice enters my ears and I can't help but smile. No matter how powerful her voice is during this scene my heart breaks every time I watch it. This is the only scene I rather not watch from the side wing. Lucky for me I have the quick change to keep my mind of this scene

Maybe I'm brainless, maybe I'm wise
But you've got me seeing, through different eyes

And somehow I'm feeling. It's up that I fell

I love the sound of Norberts voice, but knowing that he gets to kiss Idina every single night hurts. She is mine, but she will never be mine to love in public. Maybe not never, but not at this moment. Which makes me sick to the stomach. I'm so in love with this woman that she makes me sick.. Great

The music softens and I make my way into the side wing to see the last part of the scene. Even though I know that they kiss at the last part. Norbert strikes his hand against Idinas cheek and they look in eachothers eyes. "What is it" sounds Norberts whispering voice. Idina gives him a smile. "It's just..." she paused and looks past Norbert to me forcing my eyes to lock with hers. "For the first time I feel in loved" My eyes widen and looking at Norbert I can see him trying to stay in character. Behind me I can hear some crew members mumbling. I just stood there frozen watching them finish the scene. What did she just do? And what did she mean with that..

IDINAS POV

As soon as we finish the last scene I hurry myself into the side wing to get ready for the curtain calls. When I get to my spot Kristin hurries herself next to me. "Dee what was that" she whispers grapping my hand like we always do at curtain call. I just look at her and smile. "Nothing" before she can answer that the door open and we make our way onto the stage. The applause is great and we all take our bows recieving that well deserved applause. After a while we make out way backstage. "Be right back, meet me in my room" I whisper to Kristin rushing myself to Joe leaving a confused Kristin behind. "Joe, do you have a moment?" I say trying to get my voice above the loud music out of the theatre. "sure, what is it?" he answers. "I need you to get the cast and crew together. I have something to tell" he raises his eyebrown but give me a nod. "I'll get them together in half an hour" I thank him and rush my way to my room to wash of the green. After I put myself under the shower I can hear the door of my dressingroom opening. "Kris is that you?" I ask while continuing to wash the green of my body. "Yeah it's me, I'm gonna claim your couch" she says causing me to chuckle. After a record time of showering I get out of the bathroom in my sweatpants and a sweater. Kristin sits up on the couch and I lean in to peck her lips. "Come, we have a team meeting in about 5 minutes" I say pulling her off the couch. She looks at me in confusion but still follows me. As arranged Joe got everybody on stage. Once we arrive everybody looks up frm what they were doing and Joe gives the word to me. "Well, I guess I can start by saying. You all rocked tonight! And I wanted to thank you all for making every show a new adventure. But that is not what I was gonna talk about. Maybe, okay as you probably all noticed I changed a word in the last sentence of As long you're mine and that is with an special reason." I pause and I can feel Kristins breath stop for a second behind me. "I found someone special. And now you'll all probably think why do we care about that, well that one person is someone close to you all too." I look to the blonde next to me to make clear it is her who I'm talking about. I feel her hand brushing against mine and I grap her hand in mine. I can hear some people starting to whisper. I don't know if it is out confusion, excitement or just being impatient. "We are not out in public yet because uuhm.. I am not ready for it. But I feel like I owe it to Kris to give her at least the freedom to be able to love me here. At the place where we met, where we are everyday and where we have our amazing family.. You guys." After saying that there is a few seconds of silence which is broke off by Norbert who starts clapping causing the rest to follow. I take a look at the beautiful blonde next to me and peck her on her cheek. I listen to the voices of our colleagues. Some of them are suprised. Some of them knew it already and some of them are just happy for us. I look over to Joby whos standing next to graig and all she does is smile. She knew, oh god she knew

I feel like it's been too long since I uploaded, but I really wasnt feeling well. So here I am and i'm seriously gonna try to stick to my schedule😝
