19. admiring

3RD PERSONS POV

Downtown Brooklynn the 10 year old rides her bike down the hill between the busy trafic. It's 4 pm and she wants to get home soon enough to see her father before his nightshift. Trucks honk making the girl jump but she keeps going. After ten minutes she rides her bike up the access of their home in the backstreet of the busy city. She puts her bike against the house before opening the door into her house. "I'm home! Dad are you still home?" she yells in the hope her father hasn't left for his work yet. A rumbling sound comes from the kitchen and a few second later the blue eyes of her father meet hers around the corner. The little girl squeaks before jumping into her fathers arm. "Hello to you too my beautiful luna" her fathers speaks hugging the smaller girl in his arms. After a while he put down his 10 year old daugther. "You are just in time, because I have to leae to work soon" he speaks making the girl in front of him pout. "Why can't you never take a night off, so that we can be with the three of us?" the green eyes of the girl look up to her father. He just gives the girl a smile and shakes his hand through her hair. "I will be able to do that soon" he says causing his daughter to smile.

Meanwhile the blonde mother watched her husband and her daughter from a distance. She smiled at the bond between them while just standing there admiring the whole people she loved the most. The older woman was just happy her husband started realising that his wife needs him. But more importantly that his daughter needs her father.
He malfunctioned after a fight they had a few weeks ago. Luna was off to bed and they got into a discussion. About him working to much. About Luna having to take care of her mother. About the fact that he should bond with her because she would not be around for much longer. She needed her father and he realized that. He apolagized for his behaviour and he promised to quit on of his day jobs so he would only work two jobs instead of 3. Because they still needed the money for her treatments. Even though it was not working.
The blonde woman snaps out of her thought when she feels her husband kissing her head. "I'm off to work, diner is ready for you two" he smiles looking from his wife her blue eyes to their daughter. He kisses them both goodbye and the blonde watches him leave through the frontdoor

KRISTINS POV

"Did that really just happen? Have I actually understood?" the voice of Idina sound through the theatre as I run into the side wing. It's just her with her suitcase, her blue uniform and ofcourse the green. She looks around the stage before she continues. "This weird quirck I've tried to suppres or hide... is a talent" she pauses and smiles. "That could help me meet the wizard. If I make good" she sings grapping onto her suitcase. She nods and stands up. "So I'll make good!" 

"When I meet the wizard, once I prove my worth. And then I meet the wizard, what I waited for since.. since birth" she chuckles making my cheeks burn up a little. "And with all his Wizard wisdom. By my looks, he won't be blinded. Do you think the wizard is dumb or like munchkins so small-minded.. No he'll say to me I see who you truely are. A girl in whom I can rely. And that's how we'll begin the wizard and I" I look at the green girl on the stage and I can't help but smile. 

"Once I'm with the Wizard. My whole life will change. 'Cause once you're with the Wizard. No one thinks you're strange" I find myself staring at the taller woman on stage while she sings her song. I take a look at the audience eventhough I can not see their faces I just know that their are looking at her. She is upon that stage on her own. Just her with the suitcase. The green girl singing aabout her fulfilling her life long dream. My thoughts wander off to the day she sang this song for the first time.

"It's Wizard and I time today" Joe speaks while walking into the room causing everyone to look up. "So that means that I don't have to do anything today" I smile while leaning back in my chair causing Idina to roll her eyes at me at the other side of the room. I give her a grin and blow her a slouchy air kiss. She makes her way to the middle of the room and nods to the technician. The music starts playing through the speakers and carole her voice sounds through the room. "Oh. miss Elphaba. Many years I've waited." I admire the older womans voice as she finishes her part. She leaves the floor and sits back to watch Idina start her part. She starts of her first sentence and she acts her way through the whole song. At the end she builds up to the high note spreading her arms while belting it out perfectly.

I snap out of my thought as I feel someone tapping on my shoulder. "you have to get to your spot" the stage manager whispers. I nod and take one look at Idina before hurrying to the other side of the stage. The song is almost finished and I know she is building up to the note at the end.  "And I'll stand there with the Wizard. Feeling things I've never felt. And though I'd never show it. I'd be so happy, I could melt" my heart skips a beat when she breathes out melt. My favorte part of the whole song. You would think the green girl is all intimidated and evil, but Idina made Elphaba kind of a softie and I love that about her role.  "And so it will be for the rest of my life. And I'll want nothing else 'til I die. Held in such high esteem. When people see me, they will scream." she is giving it her whole heart and she is truely enjoying the moment. I can see that in her whole body. "For half of Oz's favorite team.." I know on this moment she takes a breath but as audience you would not notice. "The Wizard and I" she belts out the note perfectly just like the first time I heard it and then all I hear is the crowd going crazy.

We love filler chapters.. but they need to be done, so here you go💓
