Asch x Dragon! Reader x Noi

Setting: Daemos Forest

Third Person PoV

"P-Prince Asch, where are we?!" Noi gasped out, looking around the dark Daemos forest. His hands were trembling, clinging onto his dual daggers. "What happened to the others?!"

The prince rolled his eyes. "We merely got separated." He growled, looking to the shorter boy. "Try to act like a knight for once..."

Noi whimpered but fixed himself to stand up taller. He was trying so hard not to show that he was absolutely terrified. Lady Grandma had required dragon scales for a potion, so Asch and his knights were in one of the deepest, darkest parts of the forest, hunting the supposed dragon. The only problem... not one of them had encountered a dragon before. They were an extremely rare species and, according to legend, they were extremely dangerous. Noi had been feeling better about the mission when he was apart of a bigger group, but now that it was just him and Asch... "W-We're doomed..."

Asch scoffed and started walking, his cape fluttering behind him. "Let's keep going." He commanded. The ginger-haired boy jumped to attention and followed close behind his prince.

After a few minutes of walking, the two Daemos heard a rustling in the leaves of the trees above them. Noi let out a sharp squeak and cowered behind Asch. "D-Do you think th-that was it...?"

"I highly doubt it..." Asch replied, coolly. "It can still be a monster, though. Ready your weapon." He summoned a flame into his palm, readying an attack of his own. Noi only nodded, raising his daggers again.

They waited for another sound, another rustling of leaves or a twig snapping under the creature's foot... but nothing came. And then the light from the stars above them was blacked out. They looked up into the sky to see the silhouette of a beast, gliding through the air with large wings and a long tail.

Asch and Noi were frozen in place, watching the graceful creature above them. "I-Is that-" Noi was cut off when the dragon abruptly swooped down between the trees not too far from them.

Asch started running in its direction. "It is! Come on, Noi!" The other Daemos ran after him.

From there, they could only follow the sound of growls and whimpers through the trees, and then the beast was before them. Except... it wasn't exactly what they were expecting.

The dragon was more of a humanoid creature, with soft, (s/t) skin and (h/l), (h/c) hair. They looked up at the Daemos and pushed themself back, only to find it was cornered. Their pale lips were trembling and their (e/c) orbs were filled with fear. Their hands and feet were replaced with scaly, (f/c) claws, that trembled so much that they could barely hold their own wait. They had horns, wings, and a tail of the same color. Their tail was scarred and coiled around their leg. "St-Stay back...!" Their voice was shaky, but still wrung out like a bell.

Noi tilted his head. "That's the dragon...?" He asked, looking them over. "B-But they're so... cute?" Asch opened his mouth to speak, but he couldn't object to that.

The dragon's face tinted pink and they furrowed their brows at the Daemos. "Who are you?"

"My name is Prince Asch... and this would be my knight, Noi." Asch stated, catching Noi off guard. Asch was actually... speaking to the monster? That wasn't exactly like him... "Who are you?"

"(Y-Y/n)..." The dragon said, staring up at them. "P-Please don't hurt me, I'm already injured...!"

Noi looked to the prince, tugging at his cape. "A-Asch we can't hurt them, look at them!" He said, pointing at (Y/n).

Asch wanted to be able to keep up his tough facade, but he truly couldn't bare to hurt (Y/n). They looked so cute and helpless sitting on the forest floor, staring at them with a saddened look in their eyes. He sighed, looking away from them. "Are you able to hide your dragon features?"

(Y/n)'s eyes widened. "Wh-What...?"

"You heard me..." Asch growled back to them.

(Y/n) could only nod as they rose to their feet. A softly light appeared in their hands and their dragon features disappeared, with the exception of their horns. "S-So you're sparing me...?"

Noi's eyes lit up as he rushed to the dragon's side and pulled them into a hug. "Of course we are!"

"For as long as we're able to, but I cannot guarantee this will work." Asch said, gravely. "I'll have my healer take care of your tail when we return to the palace."

(Y/n) wrapped an arm around Noi's shoulders and shot Asch a gentle smile. "Th-Thank you, your highness..."

The softness in their tone had both boys blushing red. "D-Don't thank me yet..." Asch huffed, removing his cape and offering it to them. "We don't have to do this..."

The dragon took the cape and draped it over their shoulders before Noi scooped them up into his arms. "Now let's get you back to the palace!" He cheered.

(Y/n) leaned on his shoulder, looking at the two fondly. They hoped that they would be happy with them. They hoped that they could trust them as they wanted to...
