Although your loving boyfriend had wished you a little "be safe" before you left the apartment to run some errands, you had no idea that he would be ensuring your safety firsthand. Pierce waited until you were behind the closed doors of the elevator before he began to follow, going down to the lobby floor in the other elevator. As a former general, he knew a thing or two about stealth, so following you from a safe distance would be a breeze.

He stood in the lobby for a moment, watching you walk away without noticing him. Then, he started walking as well, matching your pace as if second nature. On the walk to the store in the first place, some walked into you, roughly slamming his shoulder against yours without an apology. Pierce heard you scoff and mumble out a quiet "rude..." and knew immediately that he had to act. The streets were fairly clear, so you wouldn't be heard to lose, so he was quick to catch the male who had been rude and pull him into an alleyway.

"Hey, what the f-" The boy looked at Pierce, wide-eyed with fear when he noticed the long, sharp blade in his opposite hand. "W-Wait, l-let's talk about this...!" He stuttered out, but to no avail. Pierce pushed the man into a wall and with a clean swipe of his sword, cut deep into his smaller frame. The man twitched, life draining from his eyes, before his body fell to the floor of the alley.

The Daemos looked down, coldly, before making his sword disappear from his palm and following you down the sidewalk once more.

There weren't any problems on the remainder of your walk to the store or once you began shopping. Though you couldn't shake the feeling of being watched... Still, you shook it off and went about you day.

You looked up at one of the higher shelves that showcased one of the items on your list. You stood up on your toes, trying to reach it. Pierce was fully prepared to step in, but a stranger did so first. "Need some help there?" A taller man asked you.

"I-If you don't mind..." You stuttered, bashfully, setting yourself back on the ground.

The man reached up to get the box and passed it back down to you. "Don't look so embarrassed..." He reassured you. "Your height is just fine... it's even kinda cute if you ask me..."

Pierce's eye twitched at the sight of the soft pink hue that dusted your cheeks as you smiled up at the man. "Oh, th-thank you!" You chirped.

"Anytime." The man responds, turning to go off on his way. "See you around, shortie..."

You giggled and waved at him before walking in the opposite direction. Pierce stepped away from his route in following you once more, to deal with this man who not only dared to call you cute, but he had dared to use Pierce's nickname for you. That was inexcusable...

He caught the man by the back of his shirt as he was passing the door to the warehouse of the store and dragged him in. He threw him, roughly to the ground, summoning his sword once again.

The man backed away, slowly, to fearful to say a word. Pierce lifted his sword again and the blade plunged through the man's skull. Pierce pulled his sword back from the now deceased male, leaving his body to fall over and blood spilled from his head. The Daemos' sword disappeared and he left the man to be found in the empty, cold warehouse.

It didn't take long for Pierce to find you again, but this time you were already in confrontation with a woman. She was going on about how she was entitled to go first in line and how you were being disrespectful with your common sense. That was a no go...

You had caved, letting her go first anyways, and she didn't thank you, as expected. She checked out and left the store, only to be pulled aside by a tall, inhuman being who could snap her neck without much effort and leave her body hidden in the garden display.

Pierce walked back inside, overhearing your conversation with the cashier. "I'm so sorry about that..." She sighed. "Thank you for being so calm, though. Could I offer you a discount or... something?"

You gave the girl a small smile. "O-Oh, no, it's okay! It was very sweet of you to offer though..."

The girl shook her head, smiling back. "No, really, I insist!" She said, before lowering the number of your total. "You're too sweet and cute to be putting up with rude people like that!"

Pierce's hands balled into fists as you blushed again and thanked the girl. You waved her goodbye as you walked out of the store. Your boyfriend stayed behind, stalking the cashier on her way back to the warehouse restock a shelf.

"O-Oh my god!" She gasped, at the sight of a man's dead body in plain sight. She grabbed her phone to dial 911 and backed away from the door, only to bump into none other than Pierce and freeze in place. "Ah- w-wait, don't do thi-"

She was cut off as the sword plunged through her body, a choked groan leaving her mouth as the fire was quite literally pushed out of her. Pierce threw her body to the side and walked away to catch up with you.

Luckily, nothing else seemed to happen on the way back to the apartment complex and Pierce made it upstairs before you did. He heard your voice, as well as Jake's, outside of the door. "Thank you for the help with the groceries, Jake!" You hummed, gratefully. "Do you wanna stay for a while?"

Jake shook his head, already red in the face. "I-I would, b-but I have some w-work to do right now..." He walked away from the door. "S-See you later, though, (Y/n)..."

"Bye, Jake!" You opened your door and we're immediately greeted by your loving boyfriend. "Pierce, hi!" You hummed, standing up on your toes to kiss his cheek. "Did you miss me?"

Pierce took the grocery bags from your arms and smiled at you. "Yes."

"Aww!" You beamed as you both walked into the kitchen to put things away. You recounted your day to Pierce, mentioning all of those odd encounters you had. "Guess it was just one of those days, huh?"

Pierce frowned and wrapped an arm around you waist, gently pulling you to him. "I do not think that will happen again."

You looked up at him, tilting your head and blushing at the contact. "Wh-What makes you say that...?"

Pierce leaned down to press a kiss on your soft lips. "Because you are a good person, (Y/n)." He answered. "You deserve the best."

You couldn't seem to stop the smile that appeared on your face and you happily jumped up into his arms. "Aww, Pierce! I love you!"

He caught you with ease and his grip on you tightened as he recollected his adventure of a day. "I love you too... shortie..."
