You had known them for all your life. From a young age, you were taken in to be one of two pupils under Lady Grandma, the former queen. The other was Rhys, and though there was always this competitive spirit between you, you still liked him. You two seemed to share opinions on almost everything, establishing an alliance between the two very capable pupils.

And as you two began to have more free time out of your lessons, as Lady Grandma was running out of things to teach your eager minds, your alliance became a bond, a friendship. And someday, perhaps something more.

With Asch, it was a completely different story. Asch was the son of the king, an heir to the throne, and you has made an oath with yourself that communing with him was off limits. He had seen you before and never thought much of you. But he sat in on one of your lessons one day and was bewildered by how you could manage to use such powerful spells with so much grace and elegance.

He tried to speak to you afterwards, and though you persistently avoided him, you were halted in your tracks when he swore to offer you a guard position one day, as long as you continued to grow stronger. He began to sit in on more lessons, watching every one of your movements, intently, and sometimes you would sit down and speak together afterwards, until one of you had to go.

Neither of them could fully comprehend why they felt a rush when you were nearby, why they felt weak in the knees when they saw the glow of determination in your (e/c) orbs, why they felt so overwhelming panicked when you were injured during training, even when other guards would call you and them weak.

They didn't really know it, but they were in love with you. It was Lady Grandma who eventually told them that it was love.

They were both in disbelief, as Daemos rarely feel anything but rage, contempt. Anything else was considered weak. Emotions were forbidden. Love was forbidden.

You and every little incredible thing about you, was forbidden. Perfect, but unattainable. Close to their hearts, but so far out of their reach.

You seemed to be oblivious of their feelings towards you, but you weren't. You found yourself completely torn between the two, all too aware that it was love. But you pretended to by blindsided. Why?

Because you were wise enough to both accept the feeling and few the risks around you with caution. Yes, you loved them. But Asch was a prince, not even the same class as you. You were not royalty, therefore he could never be yours to love. So you became his guard to protect and live him from afar. But to everyone, you were merely a guard to him and nothing more.

And Rhys was a fellow advisor, a guard like yourself. It was more difficult to protect him, but you found yourself looking out for him on various occasions. And when you were asked why you didn't leave him to die, you always claimed that it was because Rhys was useful. Just useful. It was always a blow to your heart to say that word, knowing how he felt and making him believe that you only viewed him as useful.

There was no change to the routine in sight, until you went to Earth. And after a month of adapting to different lifestyles and traditions, you found yourself standing in the palace pocket dimensions with Asch and Rhys holding each of your hands with both of theirs.

You smiled at them. They felt like it had been too long since they'd seen your glowing smile, something that brought them warmth in their hearts and lit up their eyes.

You stepped closer, wrapping your hands around one of theirs, holding them like you could never let go of this feeling again. And you placed a gentle caress, or kiss on Earth, to both of their faces. And you sighed, at last allowed to be happily.
