"Looking for recipes again, my snowflake~?" You hummed, sweetly, leaning over the counter and gazing at your Daemos boyfriend with a loving expression. He was sitting in the kitchen, flipping through the pages of one of your cookbooks.
He looks up at you giving you his full attention, as he'd always do when he spoke to you. He was so sweet... "Y-Yes, I was just looking for something new to make. A way of celebrating, so to speak." He shoots you a charming smile. Barely a week prior, he and the other Daemos had made the official decision to stay on Earth with you and Ava. The other boys still live in the walls of Ava's apartment but Rhys moved into yours and the two of you have been happily living together ever since.
You bit your lip, trying to hide your smile. "I think I have an idea..." You replied, coyly, walking over to the bookshelf in your living room. You tried to reach the top shelf, standing up on your toes but you were a few inches off. Just as you were about to find a stool or a ladder, a pair of hands latched onto your waist and your feet were lifted off the ground with ease. You smiled to yourself, taking the book down and waiting to be set back on the floor with the same gentle nature that Rhys would always use with you. "Thank you, darling~!"
"Of course, my angel..." He said, setting you back on the ground. His arms slipped fully around your waist and he rested his chin on your shoulder. "I don't believe I've seen that cookbook before..."
You gave him a small shrug. "I haven't looked at it in a while. It's my family's cookbook." Your smile grew as you opened it up and flipped through a few pages. "I don't know why I ignored it for so long, there are some great recipes in here..." You flipped through a few more pages until you landed on the one you had been searching for: ice cream.
You didn't have to be looking at Rhys to know what his expression was, you knew he'd be ecstatic. But he still kept the enthusiasm down, in favor of his usual, calm demeanor. "Th-That sounds lovely, (Y/n)." He steps away from you and you turn around to face him. "How do we start?"
You two set up in the kitchen, gathering ingredients and setting off to work on the cool treat. But then the time came to let it cool. It would only take roughly four hours, yes, but neither of you were completely willing to wait that long...
~~~
Hour one was spent doing some more cooking, but this time it was a simple dinner for the two if you. You ate at the table, listening to Rhys' stories from Daemos and answering his questions about Earth. "...And that's how I became Asch's advisor."
"Wow..." You bit your lip. "I know you've said that Daemos was more... brutish, I suppose, but it sounds like there was a lot more pressure on the people who could get an education..."
He nodded. "In a way, but we were also in the face of battles much less. Fighting has never particularly been my strong suit anyways..."
You giggled. "It didn't seem that was when we went to the Fall Festival." You popped another bit of food into your mouth, smirking at the Daemos. "You still haven't showed me your magic yet, I wanna know how you would've 'decimated' Asch and Noi...~"
His face flushed and he tried to cover it up with his hand, his elbow resting on the table. Another sift giggles escaped you at the action. "(Y-Y-n), why...?"
"Because I love you, glasses~!"
The next two hours were spent on the couch, in each other's arms. You both would go between reading, talking, or just enjoying each other's presence in general. Back when you were living with Ava and the others, you would absolutely never get to do anything like this. Peace had been a luxury that you couldn't afford with the others around, mainly Asch and Leif, and occasionally, Noi or Ava. Pierce, to this day was still one of your closest friends among the boys, seeing as he wasn't loud or annoying. In fact, he was rather comforting when the others were making you want to pull your hair out.
You vaguely remember how Rhys had been jealous of your relationship with him, but you quickly told him that there was nothing to worry about. Rhys was the only one for you, even Pierce could see how you felt for each other. The conflict was resolved with little effort in the end.
~~~
The final hour passed with talking and a little more cuddling. But soon the time came to try the ice cream. You put on a movie and snuggled up on the couch beside him, a bowl in each of your laps. "Ready?" You asked him with a smile.
He gave you a firm nod and a sweet, playful smile right back. "Ready."
"Okay! Three... two... one!" You both scooped up some ice cream from the bowl and put it in your mouths. The flavor set in and the treat melted away, leaving you with a giddy smile on your lips. "That was the best!" You giggled, falling over onto Rhys. He smiled down at you and nodded, eating some more. "Oh, we are definitely making that again!"
Your boyfriend lovingly combed his fingers through your hair. "I'll be happy, my love, as long as it's with you..."
