(Y/n) - Your name

Ava's life had become exceedingly hectic since the Daemos arrived. She was getting tired of scrambling around to make sure that they didn't kill someone or get themselves killed. And she was especially tired of them asking for her hand in marriage.

But there were still some good sides to it. Sometimes they were all good, and made her feel a lot less alone. Waking up and seeing them around her apartment, acting almost domestic was nice.

And saying that they were all the problem would be a lie. There was one Daemos guard who remained consistently kind to her; not fighting for her hand, not breathing down her neck if she did anything that they viewed as out of the ordinary. And that guard was (Y/n).

Ava favored (Y/n) over the other Daemos, simply because they didn't treat her like an object. They defended her, both physically and verbally. They always made sure that she was okay, outside and in. And Ava respected them so much more for it.

"Princess Ava! Why do you listen to (Y/n), but not me?!" The prince questioned with an irritated tone.

She glared back. "Because (Y/n) is kind!" She shot back. (Y/n) winced at that, and looked downwards.

"On Daemos, their kindness would be their downfall." Leif mumbled, crossing his arms.

"Well, kindness is seen as very strong on Earth, and you could all learn something from (Y/n)!" Ava retorted, rage building in her voice, clearly catching the Daemos off guard. She couldn't stand hearing them talk bad about (Y/n), especially not after all of the times they had helped her.

The others left the room, not wanting to provoke their princess any further, but (Y/n) remained. "Are you all right, Princess Ava?"

Ava merely walked over to them, snaking her arms under their cloak and around their waist. "Don't let them talk about you like that. You don't deserve to be called weak and I care about you too much to listen to it."

"You... you care for me, Princess?" They inquired, their arms tentatively wrapping around Ava.

"Of course I do!" She began, resting her head against their chest. "I really like you."

Ava heard the rate of their heartbeat increase at her words, but she could also almost see the smile on their face as they spoke.

"I have grown quite fond of you as well, Princess Ava."
