Ava frowned when she looked up and saw you in the living room, paying attention to the Daemos: Letting Asch and Noi hold you like your were one of theirs, giggling at Leif's attempts of flirtation, talking about god knows what with Rhys. She wished the Pierce could be present to enjoy your company as all of the others seemed to. She poured boiling water into a cup with a tea bag and waited for it to steep. None of the other boys had showed signs of painful rejection as Pierce had, no one else bled from their mouths and choked as a heap of (f/c) petals burst from between their lips and fluttered around in the air. No, you had accepted the rest of them wholeheartedly. Ava wondered why you couldn't accept him as well.

It wasn't hard for the female to sneak by you and the others in the living room with a cup of tea and an empty bag. She wandered through the wall and retraced her steps through the palace as this was far from the first time she'd had to care for Pierce. He was held up in his bedroom, barely able to function, not wanting to do anything else but think of you. It saddened Ava to see him in so much pain, she offered to let his feelings for you be known, but he denied. It wouldn't feel right to take you away from the others and risk them coming to a similar fate as him. In his eyes, the singular death of a knight was better than the deaths of a prince and three knights. This was just the way things had to be and Ava decided not to deny him of his wish.

Ava continued on her walk until she found the door with a blue flag hanging beside it. She knocked, quietly. "Pierce...? It's me again..." She said in an almost whisper before she opened the door and slipped inside.

The Daemos seemed to look worse every time. He was pale and sickly with deep, dark bags under his eyes. His usually steady hands shook, helplessly, and he looked as though he could barely hold his own weight. The sight brought tears to Ava's eyes. "Pierce..." She walked to his side, setting the tea in the nightstand and the bag in his lap so the petal shouldn't get everywhere. "You can't keep living like this..." She gently reached out to hold his face.

Pierce didn't answer, not even lifting his gaze to make contact with hers. He gently forced her hands off of his cheeks and ushered for her to back away as he lifted the bag to his lips and hacked. (F/c) petals, too many to count, rained from his pale, chapped lips and into the bag. Most of the petals were coated with little droplets of red blood, just large enough to be noticeable. Pierce's eyes watered profusely from the ache in his throat, but he held his head high, finally looking to Ava.

The girl whimpered at the sound of him and pain. She reached for the cup of tea and held it up to his lips. "Drink..." She whispered, and Pierce did as he was told, letting the taste of honey and ginger soothe his sore throat. Still it wasn't enough. Ava set the cup back down before crawling to sit in bed beside him. She tried to refrain from hugging him too tightly or moving him from his elevated position, but she wanted to be somewhat comforting. "Th-There's a surgery to make you better..." She said, abruptly, destroying the peaceful silence between them. "C-Can we do that? Y-You'd lose your emotions but-"

"No."

Ava tugged at his robes. "P-Pierce, please!"

Pierce sighed and reached over to pet her head, though his shaking made it much less soothing. "No..."

The girl could only lean over on him as she broke down into tears, soaking his shirt. "Wh-Why?!"

Pierce coughed out a few more petals and a trail of blood dripped from his lips. "Because I love them." He stated, simply. "I've never loved before and I choose to love them until the end."

His words broke Ava's heart, but she understood. He was committed to the idea of love. He was committed to loving you, even though you were unaware.

A few more minutes passed and Pierce's state became noticeably worse. Ava stood up and quickly ran back into her own bedroom. She didn't want to cause the others alarm with her tears, but right now that didn't matter. All she knew was that she didn't want to be there to watch him die.

You looked up when Ava ran by in tears. "Ava...?" You pulled away from the boys and knocked on her door. "I-Is everything okay? Ava?"

Ava shoved her door open and grabbed onto your shirt, her body frantically trembling. "G-Go away!" She gasped out, looking up at you through teary eyes. "G-Go see P-Pierce, he needs you r-right now!"

"I..." You furrowed your brows. "I'm not sure I understand..."

Ava shoved you back, rage and fear mixing with her pain. "Just GO!" She screamed before slamming her door in your face.

Asch stood up from where he was seated on the couch and glared at Ava's door. "How dare she treat you with such disrespect, I'll-"

You were quick to shake your head at him. "No! No no!" You objected. "I'm just... gonna go see Pierce... wait for me!" You didn't give them the chance to answer before you ran off through the wall and in the direction of the bedrooms. You didn't bother knocking on Pierce's door; You just barreled into the room.

Your breath stopped when you saw his weak state. It broke your heart. "P-Pierce!" He looked up in slightly surprise and you ran to his side and hacked as you crashed into his body. (F/c) petal fluttered around your two bodies and you looked up at him with pain in your eyes. "Who did this to you?! They aren't worth it Pierce, you-"

You went silent when you saw the color of the flowers and Pierce gently pulled you closer to his chest. "(Y/n)..."

"I-I did this...?" Your eyes watered and spilled over, immediately covering the surface of your cheeks. You didn't give the male a moment to react before you held his face and eagerly pressed your lips against his.

Pierce's body tensed beneath you, but he melted into the kiss, feeling at ease for the first time in weeks. His lungs still aches with the feeling of your flowers, but now he had confirmation that he could heal. You loved him back...

"I'm so sorry!" You sobbed when you pulled away. "I'm so sorry, Pierce! I love you! I love you so much!"

Pierce gave you a weak smile, lifting his shaky hands to your face and wiping your tears away. "I love you too, (Y/n)..." He pulled your form closer, gently, laying your body against his and letting your head rest on his shoulder.

As you began to settle down, you swore to him that you wouldn't leave his side until he was fully healed and refused to take no as an answer. Pierce, of course, didn't mind in the slightest. He had no intention of letting you go anytime soon.
