"Thanks for walking me back, Jake." You said to the landlord, giving him a kind smile. You two had become friends over the few years you'd lived in the building. As a matter-of-fact, you two had become quite close.

He waved it off, a rosy hue covering his pale face. "D-Don't mention it, (Y/n)."

The two of you stood in silence for a minute, and Jake was about to speak again, when you felt a pair of arms grab you by your waist and pull you away from the blonde. You let out an exasperated sigh the second you heard the apartment's door slam. This wasn't the first time your Daemos boyfriend had behaved so over-protectively, but you intended on making it the last.

"Leif!" Your voice was unusually authoritative, but that's how he'd know you were being serious. "Put me down right now!"

You heard Leif huff behind you before you were lowered back down to the floor. You immediately whirled around to find his face close to yours. Normally that would make you blush, but you were too agitated to even think of it. So you shot him a glare and walked away.

"What? What did I do?!" He questioned, following you.

You turned back towards him, hands balled into fists. "I was talking to someone, I was literally just saying bye! I would've been inside in a minute! Is that really too much time for you?!"

Leif's eyes evaded your glare, buts his lips quirked into a snarl. "I don't like the way he looks at you..."

You felt like you could explode. "You don't like the way anyone looks at me! I don't understand what the problem is!"

"You spend so much time with other people." He argued. "Why can't you spend time with me?!"

"I spend plenty of time with you!" Tears brimmed in your eyes. "I have a right to spend time with other people, I have friends, Leif! And if you keep acting like this, I don't have to spend any time with you!"

His eyes softened at your words, the feeling of hurt becoming more apparent in his chest. "I-It's just..." The words were quiet, easily dying in his throat.

"What, Leif?!" You spat back, seeing red. "What excuse do you have this ti-"

Leif abruptly grabbed you arm, pulling you against him. He held you prisoner in his embrace, his chin resting on your head. He stayed silent, all you could hear from your position was his rapidly beating heart. You took a deep breath, letting your tense body settle to the soothing sound of his heartbeat.

"I've already told you the story," He began, voice still quieted. "How I was alone because my group left me."

You could only nod, your eyes flickering shut. You had always prided yourself on being someone who could handle a social situation, you're almost embarrassed that you yelled at your boyfriend without hearing his side.

He hugs you closer to his chest and raises one hand up to comb his fingers through your (h/l) (h/c) locks. "I had dealt with being alone for so long, I don't think I realized how bad it felt. But then you were there and you made things better."

You snaked your arms around him in return, already empathizing. Your buried your face against his chest, trying to be comforting all the while letting him talk.

"When you started hanging out with other people, I was sca- worried that you would just... leave me. And that I'd have to be on my own again..."

More tears filled your eyes as you retracted you arms from the hug, instead moving them to wrap around his neck. You pressed a quick kiss to his cheek before fully hugging him, allowing your tears to drip from your eyes and onto his shirt.

        "S-Sorry..." You stuttered out, softly.

He scooped you up, holding you at his eye level. "I shouldn't be so overprotective of you, I need to be more trusting. Clearly, if anything that's gonna push you away from me." He lets out a sad laugh. The sound is unfamiliar and it makes you want to cry all over again. "I just like to look out for you, y'know?"

You nodded, stepping away from him, but taking his hands in yours. He lightly squeezes your hands back while he stares at you, expectantly, waiting for you to speak. "I'll think about how you're feeling more." You stated, calmly. "Just talk to me sooner next time." Your thumbs lightly glide over his hand, causing his shoulders to settle, losing their tension. "You can get all of my time tomorrow, okay? And we can do whatever you want."

        "(Y/n), you don't have to-"

"I know." You hummed. "I want to. Do you know why?" He's hesitant to answer, clearly not understanding your obvious question. You roll your eyes, smiling. "Because I love you~!" You take one hand out of his grip, using it to boop his nose.

He takes your hand again, pulling you against him, arms wrapped tightly around your waist. He leaned down to your height, pressing a long, passionate kiss to your soft lips. When he pulled away he was smiling as well, bearing his shark-like teeth. "I love you too, sweetheart..."
