"You choose a cafe to meet me instead of a good restaurant." Arman...
"But you did not have to!" She said with a dazzling smile on her face. "That honest with me, that must have inexpensive to you." She winced.
He laughed at that. One could say that he did the laugh out of politeness. "Nope, didn't even feel it."
"Really?" She looked at him with her mouth open. "You paid people to dance for me on my birthday and you're telling me that it did not even cost you anything major?"
He nodded. "I have never been in a relationship my entire life and now that I am with you, I am going to make sure that it's going to be worth our time." He promised as he took her hand and placed it on the gear with his covering it tightly.
Alia felt her cheeks become hot at that and for which she looked away with a small smile playing on her lips.
"So, what's next?" She whispered as she smiled and her blushed deepened when the man looked at her with so many emotions in his eyes.
"Anything you want." He promised.
"Anything?" She tested. "You sure?"
He winked.
********** He whined.
"How much longer?" He asked looking drained by what Alia had chosen to do. "Just take a pair or take them all and leave."
"You forgot that I have to pay." She reminded.
"Yes, please. Please select and pay and leave." He chanted bending down her level of height.
She sighed stilling looking at different silver jhumkis. "If I am going to pay around 200 rupees for one pair, then I will buy the one that I know will go with everything."
He huffed and looked away. Everyone was either surrounded by their friends or their boyfriends holding their bags and think it was the one thing he knew he would never do.
He looked at the girl he loved who was busy looking at a set that she had to pay 200 rupees for while he had crores in his bank account.
"Sir," he respectfully called out the seller who gave his attention to him immediately. "How much for these all?" He pointed to the silver jhumki sets Alia was looking at. They were all arranged neatly at a small station and he had noticed that she always came back to decide on this one and was confused about what to buy.
"All?" He looked at the station and got confirmation. "Regularly I sell for 200 each but if you're buying the whole station then it would be 150 per pair, which will be around 3000 rupees."
"Arman?!" Alia warned but his money was already out of the wallet.
"Here." He gave him the money and the shopkeeper gave him the pairs of jhumkis inside a newspaper packet.
Both of them ignored Alia's protests during the entire transaction. Alia stared with her mouth open at the vendor who was very happily completing the exchange and counting the money.
She left a tap below her chin and closed her mouth.
"Come on," he took a hold of her arm and dragged her forward as he slipped her earrings in another bag. "Be decisive next time." He said.
"Hah!" Shocked she replied, "after paying that person 3000 rupees you are telling me to be more decisive?! Me?!" She pointed her finger at herself. "Me?!" She repeated even more drastically than before. "And if he came to 150 you could have gone lower."
He looked at her up and down and she frowned looking at herself when she was pulled to his chest and her face closer to his than ever.
"Wha-Why?" She blinked.
"You are my first girlfriend and the one I intend to keep and make my wife." He spoke slowly and she felt every word. "I am not going to be a miser for you. You deserve everything for coming into my life." He kissed her forehead. "Got it?" He asked firmly and his dominance turned her on even further.
"He-yeah.." she stuttered still looking at him like a fool. "Hot it. I me-mean I go-got it." She blinked repeatedly to get her head in the clear.
He chuckled looking at her clumsy self who only appeared to clumsy in front of him. He smiled and kissed her cheek making both of her cheeks redden and causing her to look away.
Pulling apart slowly he held a hand in his and the other he took care of her shopping bags. They walked hand in hand, stopping at every shop which Alia found something to be of interest, which was at every second shop.
As she stopped at a shoe store, he looked around and found another shop. Something that he had seen women love at no matter their age.
"Do you like chat and gol-gape?" He asked respecting her choice if she didn't.
She scoffed. "An Indian girl who doesn't?" She turned back to the shoe to give her full attention.
He raised his eyebrows at that. So much so for respecting her opinion and asking her about it.
"Come on, there's a vendor there." He pointed and even before he turned to look at her he saw a blur pass in front of him and there his girl was going to the vendor leaving him behind with her shopping.
He sighed with a slight smile.
He was a goner.
******** "That's hot." He spat as he hissed. "my mother loves spicy food but this is hotter than that."
"I know." Alia took another and ate it while he stared at her with no expressions at her words.
"How can you possibly know if you are eating the sweet one's instead of the spicy ones?" He hissed as his tongue burned.
Alia laughed while laughing at his moody self. She threw their plastic bowls into the garbage and gave him a tissue.
"Bhaiya, we would take the dahi chat now." She turned to him and smiled. "Guess someone reached his limits soon." She teased. (Brother.)
As if, he scoffed and getting back on the topic which she was talking about, "Have a spicy one." He offered.
"No, I am fine." She quickly shook her head.
"No, no," he took the one from the seller who was just as enjoying the banter and gave them one free.
"Please I insist you to." Saying so he had successfully shoved one onto Alia's mouth and damn.
She screamed holding his ear and pulling it. If she was feeling pain then so was he.
********
After paying for the dahi and Dahi chat separately, they were standing against the bonnet of his car, together with their arms touching. "How was it?" He asked softly. "Did I meet your expectations?" She smiled and leaned up to kiss his cheek quickly. "You exceeded the ones I had." "I will in every way." he smiled back.
