She knocked on his door and waited for the invitation for her to come in by him. She sighed and waited. Her stomach was doing backflips.

The door opened and he stood in front of her. She was not expecting him to open it.

"Uh—"

"I was expecting you." He said and moved back, "come in." He finished and left the door open for her.

Alia frowned, what was she? An Employee? How could he talk to her like that?

She stepped in and closed the door. She took a seat in front of him instead of sitting next to him on the sofa set.
She shrugged and pointed ahead to his seat making him sigh and walk to it.

"What are you want to talk about?" He said as soon as he sat. All regal and poise, the king sat on his throne and stared at the measly maid.

"How free are you?" She asked instead. "I might end it quickly if you are not free." He was the boss after all and she did not want to hold him back from his duties.

He shook his head. His eyes still focusing on her while hers danced around the room. "Don't you worry about that. I am free for the day if you want." He have her go ahead.

"I don't want to hold you back." She said immediately feeling bad about it.

"I didn't either and I think I more about holding back." She would have taken it as a taunt as his expression said something else. "Now, I am free for you. Talk to me."

"I. . . I thought things were over between us." She sighed and stared in her lap. This was a little awkward to talk on.

"Why would you think that?" He said as calm as ever. He seemed like a therapist. She hated that about him. He was too fucking calm.

"Because," she sighed in exaggeration, "I mean, come on Arman, it's been more than 5 years and we have had no contact with each other. Isn't it safe to assume that we are just. . . Over?" She gestured wildly as she said that.

"No." He murmured. "It's not."

She sighed. "What do you want then?" She waved her hand at him. "You just tell me no to everything. I'm saying, what do you want?"

"You." He answered with a small smile paying on his lips.

She bit her lip. The man was infuriating!

"No." She answered back just like him.
He smiled faintly at that. She remembered that smile as if it was yesterday when she had noticed it. He used to have a small smile whenever he was amused by anything she did or simply adoring her.

He stood up and walked to her making her back into the chair and hold the arms tightly with her hands. Seat on the chair next to her and pulled her to him so that their knees were touching.

"What?" She mumbled as the feelings tingled. Being this close to him had always robbed her of thinking capabilities. He was too close.

He shook his head and had a small smirk on his left letting her know that she was enjoying her reactions.

"Nothing Darling." He then held her chin and angled her eyes right to his own. "I see the blush forming. Do you still want to say that you feel nothing for me or perhaps we should be over?"
She did. She felt it all.

Years ago whenever he was close she used to feel a hint of calm yet if the feeling of wanting him closer than ever. He may be dominating but not enough to put his needs above hers. Whenever she was with him she always so that he cared for her face and today when they were having lunch with his mother he makes sure that she had enough by pointing it out to her plate.

It felt as if they had met and fallen for each other all over again but there was a fear that held her back.
She shook her head making him expressionless again.

She pulled herself back and stood up. Looking down at his seated form and said, "I wanted to I have—I am finishing everything and breaking it—whatever was left in between us. "

She gulped as she looked into his eyes but continued, "I have no reason to continue this anymore and I am very, very sorry to break your heart." With her lips thinned she walked out and didn't hear him call her.

She stepped to the left and turned to see his office doors that remained close to her face.

He did not come out.

A tear slipped her eye as the door to the lift closed as well as her heart's.
