"You choose a cafe to meet me instead of a good restaurant." Arman...
"You.. a boyfriend?" He stared at her without taking any step forward and tsked. "Well, I found the joke of the year."
"Really?" Alia muttered unimpressed with his words. "I do have one."
"Get out of the dreamland." He poked her head, "What's wrong...with.."
She smirked. "Seem him?"
With his mouth still, open Shaan nodded as he continued looking behind Alia. "How..you?"
"Shut up." She pulled him in and closed the door. "Come on, I'll introduce you to him."
Shaan nodded and went to keep his bag in his room meanwhile Alia stood next to Armaan who was leaning against the wall.
"I'll be honest with you I was not expecting that," he said to her with a surprised expression. "What made you made you think of doing that?"
She shrugged. "You did. You were the one to say that none of my family members knew about you and how to contact you if it was an emergency. So now Shaan knows about you."
"Hello." Her brother came back and Alia stumbled in shock. He had changed and for a change, his clothes looked good. He put thought into it. Oh my god! She squeaked in her mind. He's trying to make an impression on Arman. Because Armaan was wearing a three-piece suit whereas Shaan was wearing his uniform from school. Aliya understood that Shaan had felt intimidated by Armaan and had immediately changed into good clothes have the boy had even washed his face.
"Shaan." Arman stretched his hand forward and Alia watched the whole exchange. "It's nice to finally meet you."
Shaan took his hand. "Thank you. I'm glad to meet you as well."
"Do you want to eat something? We have food from outside." Armaan offered and pointed at the table to which Shaan nodded as the food was food to him. Armaan moved and Shaan followed but Alia pulled him back by his collar.
"Oye, when did you learn so many manners?"
Shaan pushed her away. "I've always known them and I give them to people who deserve more."
Ouch.
He will know who deserves it when he eats burnt food tonight.
Shaan ate and so did Alia who was hungry again. Arman on the other hand ate a little just to keep company. "So have long had you two been together?" Shaan asked as he finished his bite which Alia noticed. He swallowed and didn't talk with his mouth full.
"Just some time."
"Two years, to be exact."
Both of them looked at each other. Alia had no intention of telling shaan the exact time of them being together because frankly, he was too little to be given that much detail but Armaan had already exposed them.
He looked over to her with his eyes narrowed in the slightest. "How long has it been? Tell him, Alia."
She smiled a bit forcefully and answered her brother's query. "Two years, Shaan."
"Oh." He nodded and went back to eating. "Do you know my sister has constipation?"
Alia gasped in horror. "Shut up! Shut it right now!" She hissed at him.
"Mum says that it's more to do with gastric but the doctor says otherwise. She's had since the beginning." He informed Arman who took in it.
"I'll keep it in mind." Arman turned her to Alia, "You should avoid having fast and fried foods."
"Heh?" She blinked at him, not understanding.
"He means for you.." Shaan gestured to her stomach, "digestive problems."
He then turned to Arman, "Mum tell her not to eat junk food, all the time but she never listens and all she does is next day coming to mama and asking for the medicine." He shrugged taking a bite of spring rolls, "It's an endless cycle." He sighed helplessly. "I hope she doesn't trouble you as much."
I have never seen someone a liar as big as you are. She glared at her brother who smirked back.
She cleared her throat and got up. "I'm going to get some water."
"It's next to you." Shaan pointed out.
"Dance with it then." She practically sneered at him as she moved into the kitchen.
I am going to remember this. The moment I meet his girlfriend, I am telling her everything he does. God, I wanna kill him. She tried to breathe in and out and control her anger. Oh, I hate that frog.
She sighed moved out again only to see them giggling over something.
"What's going on?"
Her brother looked up and showed her all his front teeth. "Just looking at your pre-teen photos."
********
She had thrown the album away. She had to. This was the last time and she was humiliated as it is. She was embarrassed to hell.
"What's wrong?" Arman asked as he stood behind her.
"What's wrong?" She turned around and pointed to his lips. "Why are you smiling without any reason?"
"So I cannot smile now?" He teased. "I am just genuinely happy." He chuckled.
She raised an eyebrow at that, "you mean you are genuinely happy after seeing my embarrassing pictures and listening to my brother telling you about my gastric and digestive problems."
"Yes. I am." He tried to assure her with seriousness but eventually, a small smile broke out. "Okay, it was a funny and memorable experience. I think he likes me."
"He does which is why he babbled." She agreed. "If he hadn't, he won't have been so open with you."
She then smiled and place her hands around his neck and said, "I guess you have his approval then."
He hugged her waist. Not that I need it but, "I guess I do."
