"You choose a cafe to meet me instead of a good restaurant." Arman...
Would it be too soon for a baby? Babe? Or the love of my life? —Arman.
Yes, it definitely would be.
By what am I supposed to say to you then?—Arman
Alia; my name. Nothing less, nothing more.
You're boring. 😒 —Arman
Exactly what you signed up for. She smiled.
"Who are you texting?" The phone dropped from Alia's hand as she heard her mother's voice.
"Sending snaps mum." She muttered her answer as she closed her WhatsApp. The best thing about her mum, she never checked Alia's phone and Alia hoped that she continued to do so.
"Huh okay. What's for dinner?" Pujita asked her daughter who had ordered food for them as she and Shaan took a bath.
"I ordered vegetarian famous foods for today and please no Indian, we eat that on a daily basis." She pleaded to her mother who had made a face for foreign food.
"But why?" She asked, "if the food is not available then we can buy the ingredients and make it! There's a kitchen in this suite!"
"Mumma noo! You can't bring in the food from outside and we're in Bali, we have to try the new food. Please." She begged. She'll be dammed if she ate Indian food in Bali.
"Hey!" Shaan greeted them as he sat down. "Are we having a pizza dinner? Do they have Dominoes here?"
A strangled cry from Alia as she tackled him down.
******
"I am so full." Shaan cried after finishing his dessert.
Alia merely glanced down in his direction as she knew he liked the taste of whatever he ate and his polished clean plate was a proof of that. In fact, Mother India liked it as well.
"Anyone wanna go for a walk down the beach?" Alia asked as she got up.
"Keep your phone near your baby," Pujita called out from behind.
I'll take that as a no then. Nodding, she opened the door and closed it shut behind her. Going for a walk from the front of the hotel she was informed by the watchman that there are people on the beach and that she would be safe. Feeling appreciated she thanked him and walked ahead.
Taking her sandals off and holding them in her hands she walked barefoot. The feeling of cold sand and waves touching her feet every now and then made her feel good. Relaxed if she could say that. She wished that every day she could have this peace but she knew she couldn't and she knew that she had to enjoy it while it lasted.
A hiss brought her back and she looked around her. Snake? Hell no, I'm so not getting hospitalised in Bali! Mother will strangle me with that snake. Just as she turned around she saw a woman, who had fallen down.
Walking to her she went to touch her shoulder but knew better so she called out to her. "Excuse me, Ma'am?" The woman looked up, clearly, she had been crying.
"Do you want me to call someone?" That's the only help she could offer to someone. "Or would you like me to take you inside?" Or that.
"Inside, please, it hurts really bad!" She cried in front of Alia as the pain became unbearable.
Picking her up by her hand, Alia tried her best to hold most of the weight of the woman and walked to the hotel. "So how did this happen? If you don't mind me asking." Politely she asked the woman who she was helping.
"Well I was walking and I didn't really see the stone in front of me and I twisted my foot hard enough to not be able to walk."
"Ouch, that does sound bad," Alia commented.
"Yeah well, you don't want to know the feeling." The lady commented as they neared the hotel.
"Excuse me," Alia called for attention from the reception and got everyone else's except them.
"What a bitch," the lady commented making Alia snicker for a moment and forget about her anger but not for long.
"Hey! I'm talking to you two!" Her loud voice made them jump as they finally realised the authority in her voice. "She needs medical attention so please your highnesses get off the damm high horses and work." She snapped and they got to work. Putting the lady in a wheelchair they wheeled her to the medical room while asking her, her details. Everyone in the room smiled as they appreciated her efforts. She smiled back awkwardly and dashed to the lift. It was time for a video call with BFF.
