"You choose a cafe to meet me instead of a good restaurant." Arman...
She sniffed as he patted her head, soothing her like a baby as she cried like one. His presence made it so much better. She did not feel alone and as she cried did not feel pathetic about herself.
They were on the kitchen floor. He was sitting cross-legged and she was sitting on top of him as he held her through it. The entire time he did not make the slightest of movements even if he was highly and comfortable. Thi captain holding her through it all.
She needed it. It was a much needed crying session that was delayed for five years because she couldn't do it in front of the people that she is responsible for. It was obvious that if Alia cried in front of those people for home she was supposed to be strong for. . . She just did not want to appear weak in front of them.
Her grandparents had just lost their daughter and Alia crying in front of them would have reminded them of her even more. Whereas Shaan was a completely different story because his support system was Alia and if she cried she would cry and remember the pain all over again.
Somehow only a short burst of crying sessions was given to her and she held herself back from the process of grieving as she became a pillar of strength for the rest of her family. She knew someone had to do it and a boy going to school could not be that and two senior citizens were not the ideal option too. It had to be her.
But now she was lying in the strong arms of the man she loved. As he had her letting her cry, bawl and wail in front of him without a word of protest knowing that she needed it. She always needed it and he gave it to her without expecting anything in return.
She sniffed and pulled back. The area where the face had been was wet drool and snot and tears. She could not help but curse herself slightly about it. She had ruined a good shirt.
"Leave it." She heard him and her eyes snapped to help us immediately. "It can be dry cleaned anytime. Tell me about yourself, are you alright?" His asked her in a soft voice as his thumb rubbed her cheek.
She nodded in reply not trusting her sore throat. The crying has made her better and made her heart feel a bit lighter than before. This was the best she had ever felt in the past five years.
"Come on." He helped her stand but when one of her knees buckled he decided that picking a half would be a better option.
She was lifted and her arms immediately wrapped around her neck, in the crook of his was her head. It seemed natural. Like a perfect fit. He brought her to the couch and her group took the invitation to cuddle. She patted his head but then started attaching his ear making him purr. She smiled at that.
"Here." Arman placed a blanket on her and then brought the brownies with the vanilla ice cream. It was well deserved after a long and hefty crying session.
A soft smile played on her lips as she took it from him and he cuddled close.
The TV was on and a comedy movie was out on.
*********
She yawned and stretched like a cat. Unconsciously so, out of habit, she started itching waist with her nails. She liked the feeling.
"Maybe, try taking bath more often." She hummed in return.
Realising what happened her eyes snapped open and she looked in the direction of the voice. "What the hell?!" She said to the man that was lying down beside her. "What are you doing?!" She shrieked.
He looked down at himself and then pointed the same making her do so too. "I am doing the same as you. I'm lying down on a bed."
Alia had a younger brother but Armin had managed to cross that line of patience and she never wanted to smack anyone more.
She glanced at the alarm clock. It was six and there was an hour to go at least till her day started.
Until then, she could bear him.
She plopped her head on the pillow and sighed.
"Yo-"
"Shush," she said immediately not giving him a chance to say anything. "Just shush." It was a good morning and she wanted to continue.
"Can we at least cuddle?" He said in a hushed voice making her hiss immediately. "Please." He added and jutted out his lower lip.
She cracked open an eye and laughed at him. "I would tell you that you look like a monkey but then again monkeys don't look this horrendous."
His lips thinned. Without saying anything more he just pulled her close and sighed blissfully.
Alia's breathing had evened out and he stared at her face. He lightly ran a finger over her nose and smiled. "I would love to wake up like this every single day." He whispered. The words were carried by the airs but were heard by one.
He was sleepy too which is why he didn't take the uncomfortable couch once more as just stayed on the bed while maintaining distance in between them.
Alia continued to act asleep, ignoring his words.
