It was late in the night and Alia had retired to bed. At times after she had fallen asleep, he would come downstairs to the bar in the house where he would often find his father nursing a drink.

"Did you notice what she has been looking for recently?" Siddharth broke the silence first. "all those columns where jobs are listed Are found from her bedroom."

Aramaan tsked, "you don't need to worry about her going for a job, papa."

"Sure, I don't." Siddharth agreed. "but I will not sit still if she talks about it on the dinner table."

After a moment of silence, Siddharth added, "from where did she get the idea anyway?"

Armaan thought about the answer before he came back. It had been a long time coming. Alia had always been the one to be independent but something had triggered it more than useful.

She had been content with sitting home all day and taking care of her brother along with giving it to her lazy habits but somehow she was not opposed to the age of finding a job.

It had to be the day at the mall. That was the day she had been alone and without the driver which had to be his mistake. He had to get the eyes of his people on her as it was too risky for her to be alone anywhere.

"I'll take care of it," he said instead, "what about Bua?" (Father's sister.)

"I'll take care of that." Siddharth repeated the words with sarcasm dripping from them. "Why don't you take her mind off of it by taking her to honeymoon? I can return to the office for the time of 2 to 3 months, at least."

Armaan swirled the drink in his hands and nodded after a thought. "I'll take the het tomorrow." Why the fuck should he wait anyway?

And by the time they would come back home, Alia would have something else to take care of.

****
"what are you doing? Alia raised The upper part of her body and groggily said, "I am not going anywhere with you until I sleep."

"sleep on the plane," came his reply from the closet. "I have had your bags packed. All you need to do is get up, get dressed and then come to me with the airport. The moment you have a seat on the plane you can fall asleep for as long as you want."

The fact that she was going to get a full a plane ride of sleep really tempted her before her eyes snapped open and she sat up on the bed. "what do you mean plane? Wha-what flight are you talking about?!"

Alia heard him sigh and then come out of the closet. He walked to her and took a hold of her chin and leaned in slightly, "plane, honeymoon. Understood?"

With his lips so close her hers, Alia nodded in a daze. "Yes." She mumbled.

"Good," he pecked her lips, "I have already taken out your clothes. Take a shower, wear them and then meet me downstairs." With a firm smack on her bottom, Armaan left the room and the last bags.

Blinking a few times, just to get the blurriness out of her eyes, Alia moved to get up from the bed when she froze as it finally registered.

"Honeymoon?!"

****

The moment she was done getting dressed, she moved downstairs to have a talk with him about this sudden change of heart. They were not supposed to go out of the country for at least another month.

Alia found her father-in-law along with her mother-in-law standing beside her husband and that made it difficult to have a conversation with him about it.

"All the best, child." Laksha hugged her dearly and patted her back. "have a safe journey and do not go out of the hotel alone."

Alia nodded against her shoulder and once they parted, she found the hand of her father-in-law over her head. "God bless you, Child. Don't eat anything a stranger gives you, in fact don't go out without Aman at all. Understand?"

Why were they all treating her like she had never been outside the house before? Or like a child?

"I get it." She nodded anyway. It was coming from a good place.

After a few more hugs and pats, they finally moved out of the house and into the car. Armaan was dressed in a pair of jeans and shirt whereas she was wearing a tracksuit which was much more comfortable than what her husband was wearing.

After a few minutes of driving on an empty road, Alia finally turned to her husband, "why so sudden?"

"What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean," she replied at first but then clarified, "you told me that we were not going to go for a honeymoon till the next month which still has a week left. So why are we going before that?" Was it something to be suspicious or was she is reading a bit too much into the situation?

He sighed and let go of his phone. Taking her hand in his, he kisses it before keeping it in his lap. "because I missed you."

He pulled her closer and by his side. "I have been working too much and realised that we have Barely spent time together as we should have after marriage. So I am going to make up for it to you."

Alia hummed. That was true.

After the wedding ceremonies were completed, Armaan had taken a deep dive into his work so that he could clear his schedule for a month at least and that had put some separation in between them, more than she would have liked.

With a grin, she kissed his cheek. "I can't wait then. Where are we going?"

"That," he booped her nose, "I cannot tell you."
