Rose's POV:

"Here," I hand the pen and pad back to the female officer. She nods and reads over what I wrote. I watch her frown.

"I hope we can get this guy," she says and looks at me. "Scum like this don't deserve to be here."

"Yeah," I bite the inside of my cheek. I know who did it. Why am I not telling her? I don't want to cause more trouble than I have. But it's their job... I sigh. "I'm sorry," I whisper.

"For what hun?" She shuts the notebook. "You did nothing wrong."

"I just feel like I'm causing issues," I look at her. She shakes her head.

"No," she pats my shoulder. "You aren't. I promise you aren't. If you remember anything else, here's my personal phone number," she reaches in her pocket and grabs out a card. She flips it over and writes her name and number on it. Her name is Soojin. I smile and take it when she hands it to me.

"Thank you," I nod and slide the card into my pocket. "Is there anything else you need from me?"

"Not right now," she says and stands, I stand with her. "Thank you, you're very brave you know that?" But I'm not. Why do people keep saying that?

"Thanks," I smile weakly. "Do we go back into the room now?" She nods.

"Only for a bit," Soojin says with a sigh. "Come on," she puts her hand on my back and walks into the room with me. I walk back and sit by Theo, Soojin sits right by me. "We got her statement, and we will look into it more," she says looking at Sungho. I glance over at Theo. He's looking at his hands.

"Okay, sounds good," Sungho says. "Rose can we talk privately about this?"

"If you want to say anything to her, I would rather us be here when you do," Soojin says stern. "This is a more serious case than you're letting yourself believe," she taps her fingers on the table. "Okay?"

"Okay." Sungho leans back. "Well then Rose, go get rest. We are planning on upping security around here, to make sure everyone is safe." I nod and stand up. I feel kind of dizzy. I'm making such a big issue and I hate myself for it. I hear Theo stand too. I glance over to him, but he's already walking to the door. I follow him.

"Theo," I call. "Theo wait!" I run a little to catch up to him. He stops and turns to me. "Are you okay?" I ask him. He clenches his jaw, not saying anything. "Theo why are you ignoring me?" I laugh a bit. "Did I do something?" He's still silent.

"Just stay away from me," Theo says short. I watch his face. Is he being serious.

"Theo why..." I thought we were finally getting somewhere.

"I said stay away from me. I don't want to be around you," he turns and walks off. I stare after him. What did I do?

Theo's POV:

"I don't want to be around you," I say to her, before turning and walking away. I clench my fists. I feel horrible. I caused all of this. I don't want her to be around me, I don't want to cause her more issues. I walk into my room and shut the door. I sit down on my bed. I hold my head in my hands. "Fuck," I whisper and run my hands through my hair. I lean back on my bed and stare at the ceiling. I set my hands on my stomach and sigh. I shut my eyes, but right as I do, someone knocks making me jump. I sit up and stand, going to the door. I open it right as Rose is about to knock again. She stares at me.

"You can't just do that and not expect me to question it. I know you don't like me but holy shit Theo what did I do to you," she crosses her arms. I search her face. Her eyes are swollen, she looks tired and torn. I need to tell her. If she hates me then it's easier to get this over with. I move out of the way for her to come in. She hesitates, but walks in. I shut the door.

"There's a reason," I say and walk past her, sitting back on my bed. Rose walks to my desk chair and sits down. I rest my hands in my lap.

"Well," she says watching me. "What's the reason?" I pause and take a deep breath.

"I bumped into a guy yesterday," I start. "And he dropped his stuff, so I helped him. I saw his ID say..." I watch her face. Shes nibbling on her bottom lip. I look away from her. "... Johnathon Richards. But I didn't know who he was and he said he was an old friend of yours..." I look back to her. She doesn't look upset at all. "And he asked where you were and I told him you were at the park and now looking back I definitely should not have done that. And I feel like I caused more issues for you and I don't want that to happen again," I pause. "Not that I want to be around you or anything. But just in general." I hear her laugh a bit. I look at her confused.

"It's okay," she says gently. "You didn't know Theo," she tilts her head, her smile fading. She looks at her hands. "He would've found me sooner or later. And I'm sure he's gonna try again," she whispers and sighs. "It's not your fault and I don't want you to blame yourself. The important thing is now you know," she nods.

"But I..."

"No," she shakes her head. "It's not your fault," she spins a bit in my desk chair. "Like I said, he would've found a way and I'm sure he's gonna try again."

"Then let me protect you," my mouth moves faster than my brain. I stare at her. Did I actually just say that.

"Honored, truly," she says with a small smile. "But I'll be okay. This is my battle, no one else's," she stands up. "I will be okay," the way she says it, it seems like she's more convincing herself than me.

"But Rose if he..." I trail off. "I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone. Not even you,"

"Wow how sweet," she laughs. "But don't worry," she claps her hands and heads to my door. I watch her. She turns to me. "Oh and Theo?"

"Yeah?" I stand.

"Please don't blame yourself," she says softly. "I'm not upset," she gives me a small smile. I nod. She turns back to the door and leaves. I watch the door shut. I tilt my head back and smack my forehead.

"I'm an idiot," I whisper.
