My Yellow

Part 25 - Two

Rose's POV:

The beeping to the heart monitor rings in my ears. I feel my body hooked up to so many tubes and wires. I shift my body, now being able to move. I open my eyes, the light to the room is blinding. I squint and turn my head. I see a doctor and a nurse talking. I look away from them and groan a bit, my arm is throbbing. "She's awake," I hear the doctor say. "Don't move too much," she says. "You need to rest," she reaches and fluffs my pillow behind me.

"What.." I croak. My voice is gone. "What happened?"

"We will discuss later," she says gently. "You need to rest."

"Where is Maddy?" I feel panic start to fill my body. The note. "Where is Maddy?" I hear the heartbeat monitor start to go crazy.

"Calm down." The doctor pumps something up on the IV. "Who is Maddy?"

"My..." I feel my head getting a bit dizzy. What did she give me. "My sister," I say without thinking. "Can she come here?"

"There are five people in the waiting room," the doctor says. "Do you think Maddy is one of them?" I nod, not having energy to speak. "Okay, do you feel okay to see her?" I nod again. My body is completely relaxed. I stare at the TV, watching the Kdrama that's playing. "Just don't be too loud or scare her," I hear the doctor whisper to someone. I turn my head slightly and see a puffy eyed Maddy. We just stare at each other. I look away from her and stare back at the TV. I see her out of the corner of my eye walk in and sit down by me. She doesn't speak, and neither do I.

"How are you feeling?" She asks after a few minutes of silence. I stay silent. "Why aren't you talking to me?" She whispers. I look over at her. I take her hand and tap it the amount of times of 'I'm okay'. She nods and holds on to my hand. "Okay," she says quietly. "Do you want me to go get your stuff and bring it back? I'll be staying with you here." I nod to her. She squeezes my hand and stands up. "I'll be back in fifteen minutes." She says and looks at me for awhile, then walks out.

Maddy's POV:

I walk back to the waiting room. Keeho stands up quickly, almost falling over. "How is she?"

"She's drugged up on a lot of medicine," I say quietly and cross my arms. "But she's okay. I'm going to go get her stuff," I look around the waiting room, not seeing Theo. "Where's Theo?"

"He had to go grab something, a project he's been working on." Jiung stands. "I'll go with you to get her stuff okay?" I take in a deep breath.

"No, all of you need to stay here in case something happens." I say and look at Nina. "Make sure they don't do anything stupid," I say to her. She nods.

"Aye aye," she leans back, looking at her feet. I turn to the front doors and walk out. I go to the parking lot and unlock the company car. I get in and start the car. I hold onto the wheel and suck in a breath. I start driving. I drive in silence, my brain still processing all of this. They didn't let us see her for nearly six hours. It's almost 2am. I turn down the street to FNC. I pull into the driveway and get out when I park. I go inside and go to Rose's room. I pause. I take a deep breath of air and smell bleach. They already cleaned up her room? I go in, looking around. Nothing looks out of place. What did she do? I look at her unpacked bags.

"Thank god you never unpacked," I whisper and shove all her stuff in her bag. I pick it up and sling it over my shoulder. I see her phone sitting on the floor. I pick it up and put it in my back pocket. I head to the door and stop, seeing Theo walk up to it.

"Did you get her stars?" He asks.

"What?" I ask back.

"The stars," he points to the ceiling. "You didn't get her stars."

"Get them yourself," I say cold and push past him. I pause in the middle of the hallway. I turn and go back to Roses room. I see Theo standing on her bed, taking down the stars. "Why do you care so much?"

"About what?" He asks, not looking at me.

"About her." I say.

"The stars help her nightmares," he says bluntly. "Don't you know that?"

"I mean yeah..." I watch him. "But why do you care so much?" I ask again. He doesn't say anything. He keeps taking down the stars. "Theo what's her favorite candy?"

"Anything sour," he says with a turn of his head. I squint.

"Favorite flower?"

"Daisies."

"How does she like her coffee?"

"She doesn't like coffee."

"Her favorite movie?" I step more into the room.

"Superhero Action movies or anything Disney." He takes down the last star.

"How the fuck do you know so much about her?" I raise my eyebrows.

"She talks a lot and I listen," he shrugs and steps off of the bed.

"Wow," I watch him. "And here I thought you hated her."

"I don't hate her. She's just annoying." He says and looks at me.

"You like her, don't you?" I feel a small smile on my lips. "That's absolutely disgusting."

"It's not disgusting," he pauses, his eyes going wide. "No no I don't like her, don't..." he points at me. "Don't go running to her and telling her I do... cause I really don't."

"Uhuh," I grin a bit. "THEO LIKES ROSE!" I yell. I back up out of the room, then start running. Theo is chasing after me.

"MADDY I SWEAR TO GOD!" He screams. I laugh and keep running.
