Part 16 - Two

Rose's POV
Time Skip - Second Date

"Here," I stand up from the floor, handing Keeho hair ties.

"Okay come here," Keeho sits on the bed and taps the floor in between his legs. I walk and sit down in between them, my back to him. He starts to braid my hair. I look over to Maddy, who gives me a small smile.

"You look really pretty," she says with a nod. "I think the pigtail braids is a good touch."

"Thank you," I smile a bit and look down at my phone in front of me. I take a deep breath, watching the messages from John come in. I turn my phone over and freeze, Keeho probably saw my screen. "Keeho?" I whisper.

"Hm?" He asks, starting on the other braid.

"Did you see my phone just now?" I ask

"No, I was too busy with your hair," he laughs a bit. "Why? What are you hiding?"

"No nothing," I shift. "I was just curious cause I was watching a video.." I clench my jaw and look at Maddy. She squints at me. I give her a big smile.

"Okay done," Keeho pats my shoulders. I stand up and walk to the mirror. I smooth out my flower dress, and smile. "You look so good," Keeho stands, walking behind me.

"Do I?" I smile, looking at him in the mirror. He nods and puts an arm around my shoulders.

"You really do," he sets his chin on my head. "He is one lucky man."

"You said that last time," I laugh a bit. "Watch him stand me up now."

"Do you want me to go with you?" Maddy asks, not moving from her chair.

"No," I shake my head and gently elbow Keeho so he moves. He steps back. I grab my purse and look at my phone on the floor. I consider if I should take it or not. I take a small breath and grab my phone. I set it down on the nightstand. I turn back to Maddy and Keeho. "I'm not taking my phone, but don't worry. You know where I'll be and plus it's day time," I say before they can question why I'm not taking it. I look at my bags and walk to them. I dig through my suitcase until I find my pepper spray, I put it in my purse. Keeho raises his eyebrows at me. "Just in case," I say quietly.

"Okay," Keeho shifts. "I want you to take your phone though," Keeho says with a small sigh. "Just in case something happens."

"Nothing will happen," I shake the feeling of anxiety off. "The park is right around the corner, I'll be okay." I give a reassuring smile.

"Okay," Keeho looks at Maddy. Maddy doesn't say anything. "Maddy why are you so silent?"

"I don't know," Maddy says, not looking at me. My heart sinks. "I'm just thinking about some stuff."

"Hm, you think? Scary," Keeho jokes. Maddy takes the pillow from behind her and throws it at him. I laugh a bit and walk to Maddy.

"Are you mad at me? For something?" I ask quietly. She doesn't look at me.

"Go have fun on your date," she whispers and looks down at her phone. I search her face.

"Maddy..." I reach for her hand, but she moves it back.

"We will talk after your date okay? Just.. don't worry about it right now." She says stern. I blink and move back.

"Okay," I whisper. Is she upset because I'm not telling them what's going on? I bite the inside of my cheek. If only she knew it was for her own safety. I pull my purse more on my shoulder. "Alright, bye guys." I smile a bit and head out of the room. I walk down the hall and my eyes glance over to Theo, he's sitting in a chair by the front door. "Hi Theo," I smile, standing in front of him. Theo glances up, back down, then up again doing a double take.

"Hey," he says quietly. I smile a bit more.

"Do you like my outfit?" I do a spin. He looks down at his phone.

Theo's POV

"Do you like my outfit?" She spins, my heart races. I watch her dress flow around her, the smile on her face. I look down at my phone.

"Yeah it's cool," I shrug and shift in my seat.

"Thanks," she laughs a bit. I look back up from my phone. "I'll be back soon, see you later grumpy," she smiles and walks out. I look down at my phone once more and start the 5 minute countdown until I'll follow her. I grab the ball cap in my lap and put it on. I tap my foot, watching the minutes tick by. Once it reaches 5 minutes, I stand up and walk out of the building. I head to the park she is going to. Why am I doing this? Why am I being such a loser? I fix my hat, squinting a bit to see if I can see her in front of me, and I do. I see her looking around, her dress gently blowing in the wind. I slide my phone in my back pocket, and keep my head down as I walk. I feel someone bump my shoulder, then stuff drop. I stop and see a man picking up his stuff. I bend down and help him. I grab an ID card, Johnathon Richards why does that name sound familiar?

"Here," I say and hand it to him. He smiles.

"Thanks man, do you happen to know where FNC is?" He asks as we stand. I point to the building I came from.

"Over there," I nod. "I can take you there if you need it, that's where I work."

"Oh shit are you a part of a group?" He chuckles.

"Yeah," I laugh awkwardly. "Do you work there?"

"No," he shakes his head. "I'm looking for an old friend, Rose?" I tilt my head.

"Oh she went to the park for a date, I can tell her you're looking for her, your name is Johnathon right?" I ask him. He shifts, looking uncomfortable.

"No," he says quickly. "That's fine," he gives me an awkward smile. "Thanks for the help!" I nod and watch him walk away. He's kinda weird... how does he know Rose? I shrug and head back to the park. I walk in and see Rose sitting on the bench. I pause, is she getting stood up again? I start to walk to her, but then a man walks over and she stands. I watch her smile, and laugh talking to him. I clench my fists. They start to walk through the garden and I follow slowly behind them. I hear my phone start to ring and Rose turns around, so I turn my back to her quickly. I take out my phone and see Intak calling.

"What?" I say when I answer.

"Where are you? I need help," he says, out of breath.

"Why?" I sigh.

"I can't get passed this level on the game I'm playing," he says.

"I.." I turn and see Rose and her date are gone. I bite the inside of my cheek. "Okay I'll be there soon," I hang up and look around, still not seeing her. I take a deep breath and walk out of the park. I'm being stupid anyway. She's gonna be fine.
