(Episode 13) A Ray of Hope

Everything was going to shit. Most of Rico's squad is very injured but thankfully alive. Me, Rico and another one of her members wasn't injured but that didn't mean it was easy killing off Titans. Everything was looking very difficult and I tried with every bit of my being to save everyone but there wasn't much luck. Titans were still coming in and making life difficult for us.

That was until loud footsteps were heard. Each slow but steady. I thought it was a huge Titan but then quickly remembered that it must be Eren! Finally... A ray of hope came...

We all looked at Eren steaming with the boulder on top in his arms moving. Ian then started demanding orders and we all left to kill off Titans. Mitabi's squad where on the ground trying to distract the Titans while the others did the same. I made sure to keep everyone alive but my body was fighting against me. It was hard but I couldn't just stand there and watch!

I fought against my body, my mind, the Titans, everything that was in the way of saving people I knew since I became an elite. Nothing should stop me from saving! I have to keep fighting! I have to! Fight! Fight!

Then the most memorable scene came form this show, this life I've lived and loved. The moment Eren blocked the breached gate.

It felt like a weight was pushed off of my shoulders and I felt my body shake fiercely and yet... I was still killing Titans left and right. Each and every one of them staining blood on me and making sure pain was inflicted on each.

I saved them...
I saved the elite squad and their members...
No blood was spilled except mine...

I sliced one more Titan before going over to Eren them. Armin was pulling Eren's body out of the Titan before Rico cut him lose. In doing so though Armin fell back with Eren in his arms. I decided to not worry because now the Survey Corps have finally arrived. I looked up and saw them standing on the wall like angels.

Two Titans were behind us and was about to grab Armin but quickly and swiftly Levi came and killed them. My eyes closed and I let the darkness consume me. I was to tired to continue being awake and in pain to see the rest of the scene where the scout are finally helping us out. I felt a pair of arms wrap around me but like I said I was to tired to even care anymore.

Afterwards, thanks to the Survey Corps and the Garrison engineers' quick response, Wall Rose had once again repelled the Titans' advance.

An entire day was required to eradicate the Titans from Trost District, with the wall's fixed cannons firing around the clock.

High-explosive shells annihilated the majority of the Titans swarming the wall, and the Survey Corps eliminated the few that remained.

Furthermore, a 4-meter-class and 7-meter-class Titan were captured alive.

On the other hand, 207 soldiers were killed or missing in action, and another 897 were injured.

Repelling the Titans for the first time in history was a noteworthy feat, but simply far too many lives had been lost to allow for celebration.

I carefully and slowly opened my eyes. I saw white. Everything was white...

Are those a pair of-

"You're finally awake. Thank goodness..."

I close my eyes again before opening them up to see Levi sitting in a chair in front of me.

I was in a hospital bed with white walls and one window brightly shining the sun and it's blue sky while some birds were flying pass.

"L... Levi?" I asked, still in my foggy condition and still seeing white.

"Yea brat it's me. Do you remember anything?"

I nusselt my head into the soft pillow humming a no and shaking my head sideways. Everything was too blurry to keep my vision on anything so I closed my eyes.

"Tsk. As to be expected. Let's just say you got a hell of a lot to explain but for now from what I've heard, you practically threw your life away to save as many from the outbreak of Titans but you got bruised up and exhausted. Thankfully your brat Sam caught you before you fell onto your face out of exhaustion."

I hummed again not really listening to him.

Levi gave a tsk before setting a hand on my hand, in which my heart gave a skip, and said,"I don't know if you actually listened but just so you know I'm going to go. I have to tell the doctors you're awake and I have to meet up with a brat. See you later..."

I grabbed his hand and looked up at him with a smile,"I'm glad you're okay. Promise to come back and tell me everything, okay?"

Before he could answer I fell asleep again. I'm too tired... I'm so tired...

°Levi's POV°

I felt (Y/n) go limb and fall back asleep.

Stupid brat...
You could've been more careful you know? Still... When you grabbed my hand and said that... I felt... I felt... Something...

I gently set her hand back on the bed and left the room before looking back at her one last time.

Why? Why must you put your life in danger for others? Why do you always give me a smile? Why do you always act as if you're fine? Why do you always give me such strange feelings?

Just why?

I saw something.

Something familiar but yet so far away...

Where do I know it from?
How do I even know it?

What actually is it? Was it wings or was is feathers? Maybe a piece of cloth or was it hair?

Maybe it was a garden or maybe a Cristal palace? Is it even a palace? It kinda seemed like a prison... Or did it just give a lonely atmosphere?
