It's been awhile since the incident and I haven't done it again. My days have been going fine, thankfully.

Right now, it was dinner and my comrades were talking about training and some of their other friends.

"Hey Captain, have you heard?" Sam started.

"Heard what?" I asked before sipping my tea.

"You're Humanities second strongest. Our amazing Captain is humanities second strongest. Can yall believe that?"

"Yes, it's very impressive Sam, now shut up and eat before I make you run laps until the sun rises."

"But Capt-"

"Aren't you happy Captain? We're studying under an amazing and strong Captain. Don't forget beautiful!" Lillypad chirped.

"I could care less..." I muttered.

"Aw, come on Cap. It's impressive... Do you think it's weird that we're proud of you?" Adam asked cockily.

"Whatever, I don't care what people think of me, Adam. If you're proud then that's that. I don't care."

Actually I do. I just want them to drop the subject and talk about something else. Anything else really.

Dinner was finally over and everyone went bed. I and probably a few others didn't. I sat in my office doing paperwork. Nothing special.

That was until I fell asleep...

I woke up in sweat and tears again. Me trying to calm myself down. My heart was beating so fast I felt like I was having a heart attack.

"Calm down... Calm... Down...."

After a few minutes of trying to calm myself, I started my paperwork again. I have nothing better to do so why not do my irritating paperwork.

~Timeskip~

Time has passed and nothing special was happening. Only training and paperwork. I had to give the Commander my paperwork, So I walked down the halls awaiting more paperwork that will break my hand even further.

I knocked on the door and said,"Commander, it's me squad leader (Y/n). I've brought you my paperwork."

"Come in, (Y/n)"

I walked in and saw the commander talking to Erwin.

"I'm sorry, am I interrupting?"

"No, Erwin was just leaving."

Erwin looking at the commander for a second before walking out, not even giving me a second glance. I sat the paperwork down on the table and said,"Done. Anything else?"

"(Y/n)... May I ask you something?"

"Um Sure?"

"If I asked you to be next in command, would you do it?"

My eyes widened,"I... I Don't understand."

The Commander sighed,"Nevermind..."

I blinked a couple times before making my way out the door.

"(Y/n)"

I turned back around and stared at the commander,"Good job"

I nodded before walking out the door. My mind wondered about what the commander said. Honestly... I wouldn't do it. Erwin is suppose to be next in command, Then Hanji.

Me? You've got to be joking.

My mind was too far off that I didn't even notice someone right in front of me. I knocked into said person and broke out of my wondering mindset.

"Oh (Y/n)... I'm sorry I didn't see you there."

I looked up and sew Erwin, he looked distressed and kinda sad. I composed myself and said,"Oh no, it's fine Erwin. I was spacing out too much to notice my surroundings. I'm the one that should be apologizing."

He chuckled and gave me a fake smile,"Don't worry about it."

I looked at him with worried eyes,"Erwin.... I know you and I don't talk much or know each other that well but.... Are you okay?"

He seemed surprised when I asked. He stared at me for a couple of seconds before saying,"Thank you (Y/n) but... I'm fine."

"You sure, sure?" I asked again. I think he understood because he finally gave me a reassuring smile and this time it wasn't fake," Thank you but don't worry to much. I'll be fine. Just... Visit me more often and we can get to know each other better. If you want to, that is."

My expression soften,"I'd like that but seriously don't push yourself too hard. It's not good for the health."

He chuckled,"Thank you. I'll remember that."

We waved each other off and left with determination in our hearts and kindness for each other.

"I've always like Erwin. Not just because he is a good leader but because he's determined to do whatever it takes to achieve his or others dreams." I thought. "One thing I don't like about him is that he'd sacrifice a lot of things and people just to see it through. Sometimes I wonder what's going on inside his head..."
