*song is All You Leave Behind by Hannah Cartwright*
Evangeline POV:
When Elijah and I arrived back at the table Caroline and I had been seated at, Klaus was gone and it didn't take long for me to spot him at the bar. "Finally, now it can actually eat." Caroline exclaimed as I slid into the booth across from her, Elijah soon sat beside me.
"You haven't started eating yet?" I asked as I picked up my fork, at least the lettuce wasn't brown.
Caroline shook her head. "I was waiting for you to get back and Klaus makes me uncomfortable."
"I hope you don't mind Elijah joining us, he's afraid Klaus had a diabolical plan to destroy me."
Elijah shook his head at me and picked up the new glass of wine that had been delivered, drinking from it without even bothering to ask. "Forgive me for being concerned, but you don't have the best judge of character Evangeline." Elijah remarked, putting my wine back on the table.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I declared, moving my wine glass away from him. "If you want wine, you can order wine. This is my wine."
Caroline grinned at me as she took a bite of her salad and put her fork down. "I'll go get the waiter." She told us before she stood up and went in search of Sean.
"The two of you seem to be getting along perfectly." Elijah observed as I watched Caroline walk up to the bar near Damon, far away from Klaus. "Which of the Mystic Falls residents will be your next friend?"
I thought for a moment about all the citizens of this town who probably hated me, my next friend was obvious. "I can't befriend Caroline without befriending Bonnie, so I intend to make Bonnie Bennett my friend."
"Bonnie Bennett has become a very powerful witch, some would argue she's the most powerful of her generation." Elijah spoke, I had been alerted to Bonnie's newfound strength already by my brothers. "Befriending her would be good, just stay on her good side."
"Of course, I'm amazing at making friends and keeping friends."
"That is debatable."
"Well I've known you for a hundred and twenty years, I've been friends with Katherine since I was human, and then there was Kol as well."
"I suppose having three friends is an accomplishment for you then?"
"Obviously considering how many people I hate, like Elena Gilbert."
"I don't understand why you hate her so."
"I don't understand why you don't hate her."
Caroline slid back into the seat across from me and I looked over at her, the conversation between Elijah and I ceased as Sean came up the the table. "What can I get you?" He asked.
"I'll take a glass of your best scotch." Elijah ordered, of course he didn't actually want wine he just wanted to bother me. "Neat."
Sean wrote the drink order down on his pad of paper before speaking again. "Anything else?"
"That'll be all." Elijah waved him off, typical Elijah. "Thank you."
Sean walked away and I saw Caroline raise an eyebrow at me, but her expression stopped when I have her a pointed look. "You could have ordered a meal, Elijah." I told the Mikaelson, I ordered a meal with my drink because I didn't want to appear like an alcoholic and I was having a people food craving. Much unlike my brother who was appearing as a severe alcoholic as he drank directly from his wine bottle with two other bottles of liquor in front of him.
