*song to the side is I Just Wanna Run by The Downtown Fiction*
Evangeline POV:
I found Elijah in the lounge I'd been in before I decided to eavesdrop, he was standing by the fireplace and looked up when I entered the room. "Is everything alright?" He asked, straightening out his posture. "You look like you could murder an entire city right now."
"Not an entire city, just one Original Hybrid will quench my thirst for blood." I assured, glaring at the floor as I walked further into the room. "You were right, I should have just stayed away and continued my life away from Mystic Falls."
"What happened?"
"Nothing that I haven't been warned of a million times before, I just need to get out of this town."
"You just got back, Evangeline, don't let my brother get to you."
"How did you know it was Klaus?"
"I've begun to recognize the look you get after you fight with Klaus."
"Yet another reason I need to leave, I have a specific look for Klaus-is-being-a-dick that people recognize."
Elijah chuckled. "What about your brothers?"
"I'll see them again sometime when Klaus has gone."
"Well where do you plan on going?"
"I'm thinking maybe New Orleans. I know people in that city and I don't see Klaus returning there anytime soon, perfect place for me to hideout for a few centuries until I've forgotten every bad thing in my life."
"You hate New Orleans."
"So does Klaus."
"When do you want to leave?"
"As soon as I can."
"Well how about you wait until tomorrow and I'll drive you down myself, I'd like to make sure you're safe there with these friends of yours before I trust them with your wellbeing."
I smiled, I'd love nothing more for him to drive me there but I doubt he'd leave when he figured out the person I'd be staying with is Marcellus who Elijah and all his siblings thought to be dead. "I want to leave tonight, so how about you finish up your business here and then you can come down and worry about my wellbeing yourself?"
"Okay, but it want you to call me when you get there so I know you're safe."
"I will, now would you mind taking me back to my car? It's still at the Grill."
-
"Remember to call when you get to the city and get a new phone." Elijah reminded me as I embraced him in a hug. He'd driven me to my car and now it was time for me to say my 'until I see you again', I didn't know exactly how much Elijah would want to do before he came down to New Orleans. "And every six hours after that."
I rolled my eyes. "You sound just like Katherine, she told me to send her pictures of all the places I went when we visited New Orleans so she knew where I was at all times."
"Well I pride myself in not hovering, so phone calls will do just fine. I'll be down there within the week."
"You want me to call you every six hours for an entire week? How am I supposed to get any sleep?"
"Fine, call me everyday when you wake up and then again before you go to sleep." Elijah negotiated and I nodded. "I forgot children like you needed their sleep."
"And old men like you don't?"
"I sleep."
"I'll believe that when I see it, Elijah."
