Evangeline POV:
The sound of glass shattering pulled me from my sleep, opening my eyes to find Klaus missing. Without another thought, I jumped out of bed and ran downstairs. Another crash came from the living room and I saw a blonde girl come running out, her shirt scorched and smoking, I recognized her as the witch who had helped us bring everyone back. I spotted Stefan coming from down the hall and quickly slipped into the room Liv had come from where I found another woman, this one a complete stranger.
There were things thrown all over the ground, a vase shattered, and the woman looked at me. "Who are you?" I asked at the same time as Stefan asked. "What are you doing in my house?"
"I'm Jo, Alaric's girlfriend." She replied to me before turning to Stefan who now stood beside me. "Fire spell, sort of, turns out getting back in touch with magic isn't anything like riding a bike. I am sorry about that vase though, was it expensive?"
She pointed at the vase that was broken on the floor, and Stefan looked down. "Well I don't know, but the Smithsonian would, you should call them."
"Right, Jo, you haven't happened to see anyone wandering the house this morning, have you? Like maybe someone you've never seen before?" I asked, trying my hardest to figure out where Klaus could have run off to without mentioning his name in front of Stefan. "Also hi, Stefan."
They both looked at me suspiciously as Jo replied. "Just you."
Just as Stefan was about to question me, the front door opened and Alaric walked in carrying a brown paper bag. "Oh thank god, breakfast." Jo stood up from her seat and began walking over to Alaric. "Please tell me you brought mimosas."
"You actually think I would watch this sober?" Alaric scoffed pulling a bottle of champagne out of the bag.
"And what exactly is this?" Stefan asked as Alaric handed Jo the champagne.
Jo turned to Stefan. "Today we make smores, in a month I win the merge and become the leader of my coven guaranteeing its survival. Liv has me on a 30-day regimen between now and the next celestial event."
Confusion washed over me as I began to realize just how much I had missed since I was last here. "Right, and this regimen has to happen in my living room why?"
"Damon feels guilty," Alaric replied.
"That's new." Stefan's brow furrowed before he looked back up at Alaric incredulously. "And where the hell is he?"
"He left late last night after a phone call with Elizabeth Forbes." My body completely froze at the sound of that voice as my eyes trailed past Alaric to find Klaus leaning against the archway. "I assume he went to visit her."
I glanced over at Stefan, gauging his reaction carefully, but his eyes were already trained on me. "Evangeline, what is Klaus doing in our living room?"
"Well, that's the thing." Everyone's eyes trained on me as I tried to formulate words in response to the question. "I, well, I invited him."
"You invited him? Klaus? You invited Klaus?"
"Well, kind of, yes. Don't worry about him though, Stefan, I will keep him out of trouble and we'll be gone by tomorrow."
Alaric spoke next, eyes boring holes into me as he glared. "You know who that is, right? That's Klaus Mikaelson. He has tried to kill every single person in this town at least once, you must be critically insane to think inviting him back here would be a good idea."
"Watch your tone." Klaus glared at Alaric, pushing himself from the wall to place a hand on his shoulder and pull him closer threateningly. "Speak to her like that again and I'll rip out your tongue."
