Evangeline POV:
I entered the compound with a smile on my face. After Elijah and I had left Rousseau's he'd suggested I return to my 'hotel' to prevent run ins with Klaus, which I was all for. The last thing I wanted to do was let Klaus know I was here. Why was it that every time I left he just popped right back up days later, or in the lucky cases a few months? Did the universe really hate me that much?
It only took me a minute to realize one thing missing from this compound right now; vampires. They were usually everywhere but right now I couldn't neither see nor hear them, it was quiet. "Marcel?" I called out, taking cautious steps further into the compound as I took out my phone. "Marcel?"
There was no reply and no noises I could hear, where had everybody gone? I walked up the stairs, still moving slowly until I finally heard a noise. There were voices coming from somewhere and I began to follow them.
"Something's gotta draw in the out-of-towners otherwise we'd all go hungry." It was Marcel, I wasn't quite sure who he was talking to.
Well I wasn't, until the guest started talking. "I see your friends are day-walkers." Klaus.
I turned around as quickly as I could and ran back down the corridors, what in hell was he doing at the compound? And why hadn't he killed Marcel? I unlocked my phone as I walked out of the compound and onto the streets of New Orleans, dialing Elijah's number. It rang for a minute before I got the answering machine.
"Come on, Elijah." I muttered, trying again and getting the same result. "Why aren't you answering?"
I tried a third time and got voicemail once again, this time I decided to leave a message. "Elijah, it's Evangeline. I know where Klaus is, call me when you get this." I spoke into the phone before hanging up and dialing Damon instead, hopefully he could get away from his Elena drama long enough to help his only sister out. Damon picked up after the second ring.
Damon: Evangeline? Are you okay?
Evangeline: Not really.
Damon: What happened? Who's ass am I going to have to kick?
Evangeline: Nobody's yet, I just saw Klaus. Well, I didn't see him, but I heard him.
Damon: I told you it wasn't safe there!
Evangeline: Well I would have had Elijah to help me, but I've called him three times and he's not picking up.
Damon: Just get out of there, Eva.
Evangeline: I am.
Damon: Good. Anything else you need?
Evangeline: No, Damon, I'm sorry for interrupting your Elena session but I would think my safety would be a bigger priority right now.
Damon: You said yourself that Klaus wouldn't kill you, there's not much danger there.
Evangeline: I said that to get people like you off my back!
Damon: Well he hasn't killed you yet, you'll be fine.
Evangeline: You know what, I'm just gonna go right back in there and see what happens because anything that happens to me is on you. Give Elena my regards.
I hung up the phone and dropped it into the ground, bringing my foot down right on top of it. Destroying yet another cell phone. Obviously I wasn't going to go back in there, but if wanted Damon to think I was. "Damn it." I hissed as I realized I had absolutely no way of getting in touch with Elijah now, I was on my own. "Why do I never just shut it off?"
