Evangeline POV:

I woke up to the sound of loud banging and the sound of glass shattering, opening one of my eyes to find the source but I didn't find anything. "Bloody hell!" I recognized the voice immediately and found myself laughing, actually laughing. As soon as I realized what I was doing I stopped, he had just woken me up from a very peaceful sleep. It wasn't funny.

"Henry!" I screamed and a few seconds later he was beside my bed, pieces of broken glass in both his hands wearing basketball shorts and a t-shirt. I had forgotten his sense of fashion over the years, and I certainly wasn't used to it after spending so much time with Elijah Mikaelson.  "What did you do?"

He held up the broken glass and I vaguely recognized it as the lamp from the side table in my living room. "I broke your lamp." He stated and I rolled my eyes. "The table it was on was kind of in my way, I promise I would never break such a pretty lamp on purpose. Cross my heart."

"I'm sure." I replied, sitting up in my bed and pushing my hair back with my fingers. My eyes drifted to the electronic clock on my nightstand. 7:50am. "What the hell are you doing here so early?"

Henry placed the broken glass on my nightstand next to the clock with a huge smile. "Right, we're going to get bagels!"

"Bagels?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "You woke me up at 7:50 in the morning for bagels?"

Henry nodded. "I had my first bagel a few weeks ago and it was heavenly, so I'll be the first to admit I have an addiction."

"You could have brought the bagels here," I pointed out, "and then I wouldn't have to move."

He narrowed his eyes at me. "If I start to suffer withdrawals I'll be blaming you. I will come here every morning at 6 and I will wake you up and annoy the life out of you."

"Oh my god, fine."

Third Person POV:

Elijah still sat at his desk, he had hardly moved for the past week. Niklaus' words about Henry still echoed in his mind and all he could think of was finding out exactly who Evangeline was spending her time with. He could be anyone. Elijah had tried all manners of research from the internet to books and he finally thought he had a solid link, but it wasn't anything he had expected. Maybe a body or two here and there, but according to the impeccable records kept by one immortal encyclopedia Elijah recalled killing some time ago the bodies were not few.

There were unpublished articles going back over a century, every five years, reporting madmen killing off large groups of people. Except these madmen, when interrogated, told the investigators the name Elijah had heard come from the mouth of Evangeline's strange friend. Henry Clarke. The same name every time. His name was plastered all over these massacres in hotels and hospitals and apartment buildings all over the world.

Elijah looked at the date from the newest article, it was dated 2007. "Five years ago." Elijah whispered to himself as he recalled Henry mentioning that he stayed in a hotel; to keep his less pleasant activities away from Evangeline. And that is when Elijah realized. "The hotel."

"You have the expression of someone who had found what they were looking for." Niklaus smirked from the doorway to Elijah's study, it would only be a matter of time now until Elijah did something very stupid that Evangeline would hate him for. "And what do you think of dear Henry?"

Elijah looked up from the articles he was reading. "Is this what Evangeline didn't want me to know about?" Elijah was extremely curious about this, not thinking it could get much worse. "The misdeeds of her friend?"

"Not the misdeeds of her friend, Elijah." Niklaus shook his head, his smirk becoming more and more arrogant as the conversation evolved. "What she doesn't want you to know is that she used to take part in this. According to Evangeline, it was the most liberating time of her life. He would compel random humans to kill off entire buildings of people, and in the aftermath of the bloodshed the poor compelled human would be arrested and interrogated, compelled only to say one single name. Each time they were declared insane, institutionalized, and Evangeline got off on doing that to people knowing she had control over them. But don't worry brother, Evangeline never took part in the compulsions, but she selected the location and she selected the person and she watched every single death. That, dear Elijah, is what she didn't want you to know."
