*song to the side/above is Immortals by Fall Out Boy*
Evangeline POV:
Well Damon finally called, but of course it wasn't to tell the sister he seemed to care so much about twelve hours ago that he was almost in New Orleans, it was to tell her that there was someone more important who needed his help first. Who? You ask, well that ones easy, Elena Gilbert. Her no humanity self got locked up in the basement and Damon wants to stay and see her attitude adjustments, and people wonder why she makes me want to kill babies.
Then there's the matter of Original brother Elijah, he should be here by now and every second he wasn't made it more likely I'd run into Klaus. I don't know why but somehow I can't see Thierry the bodyguard standing much of a chance against Klaus the Original Dickhead, but that's just me. "Marcel needs me at the compound." Thierry announced as he looked up from his phone. "Something about witches doing magic."
"Right, let's go then." I was ready to get out of the public eye.
We had already been walking back towards the compound anyways so it wasn't that far and vampire speed only helped the process. In the French Quarter vampires were a known presence to locals, one of my three reasons for liking the city. The compound was in sight moments later and when we walked in Marcel was there with a group of vampires.
They all had daylight rings on their fingers and I spotted Diego out of the mix, this must be the 'inner circle'. "Who was it?" Thierry asked as he walked up to Marcel, I walked right past the group towards the stairs.
"Jane-Anne Deveraux." Marcel replied. I knew I remembered Deveraux from somewhere, but I couldn't place my finger on it and since I knew nobody with the name Jane-Anne I brushed it off. I'd probably met a thousand Deverauxs in my lifetime. "Think you could find her for me?"
Thierry nodded as I disappeared in my room, no longer listening to what they were doing, instead I took it upon myself to take out my phone and dial the familiar number to Stefan's phone. I wasn't sure why I hadn't put it in my contacts yet. I put the device on speaker and waited as it rang a few times before Stefan answered it.
Stefan: Hello, who is this?
Evangeline: It's your sister, don't sound so creeped out.
Stefan: You finally got a new phone?
Evangeline: Yep and I'm wondering what Elena drama stopped my overprotective older brother from drilling safety procedures into every citizen of New Orleans' minds.
Stefan: We're trying to get Elena's humanity back, Damon's calling it 'Mission Living Hell'.
Evangeline: You mean you're actually torturing your pet? That's not very nice, didn't you learn your manners?
Stefan: You know very well you're smiling right now.
Evangeline: I'm not a horrible person, I want Elena dead not in constant torturous pain inflicted by two self proclaimed serial killers. Why do you think so low of me?
Stefan: You're smiling.
Evangeline: You're right, I am. It's not my fault I can't contain my happiness at anything that causes that brother stealing doppelbitch pain.
Stefan: Is that all you called for or do you need something?
Evangeline: I don't want to keep you, you've got a doppelgänger to torture. Bye Steffie.
Stefan: Bye.
I hung up the phone a sighed loudly before walking over to my closet, why could I never just ask the questions I really wanted to ask? It's not like I was self conscious or shy about anything that came from my mouth. So why couldn't I ask the important things?
