Evangeline POV:
Elijah was leaving. I had overheard a discussion between him and Klaus as I was walking back to my room, he was going to join Marcel across the river to help with the new vampires Marcel was creating. As I sat on my bed I couldn't help but feel guilty, I didn't want Elijah to have to move across the river. This was his home, this is where he belonged.
I knocked gently on the door, waiting for permission to enter. After a few moments, the door was opened and Elijah smiled down at me. "Evangeline, I wasn't expecting you." He said, stepping aside to allow me to enter. "Please, come in."
"I wanted to talk to you," I replied, stepping inside before he closed the door behind me. "I overheard your conversation with Klaus, you're leaving us?"
Elijah sighed, taking a seat in one of his chairs before offering me the one beside him. "I think there's potential with the vampires Marcel is creating, with the proper guidance. So I have decided to be that proper guidance, and hopefully, those vampires will be useful to us someday."
"Earlier today you wanted to discuss what happened back at the safe house," I recalled, taking a seat in the chair beside his, "what were you going to say?"
Elijah took a deep breath before exhaling slowly. "I was going to tell you how sorry I was for everything that I said to you, I don't think I've ever felt worse than I did after you left. And I know an apology doesn't make all those words go away, but I hope that you can forgive me for what I said to you."
"There's nothing to forgive, Elijah, we have both said and done things we regret and I know you didn't want to hurt me," I replied quietly, looking down at my hands unable to look him in the eye. "Please don't leave, Elijah, please stay."
Elijah was silent for a while which made me look up from my hands to his face, he seemed conflicted. "Come with me, you can stay with me in Algiers."
"Elijah-"
"You don't have to give me an answer now, just consider it. I think both of us could benefit from leaving the Quarter for a time. I'm moving in tomorrow, but you will always be welcome if you decide that getting out of this place is what would be best for you."
"Thank you, Elijah." I smiled sadly, standing up to pull him into a hug. "You have no idea how much I appreciate everything that you do for me."
Elijah stood to return my hug, his chin resting on the top of my head. "Give it some thought Evangeline." He pulled away from me and it took everything I had not to pull him back again, instead, I stood still as he placed a kiss on my forehead. "It's very late, you should probably get back to your room."
As Elijah took a step back, my eyes met his. I wasn't sure if it was the things he said or the way he was looking at me, but I grabbed his tie and before I could even think of what I was about to do, his mouth was on mine. He didn't pull away as I had half expected him to, and instead, he pulled me closer with his hands wrapped around my waist.
I kept one hand firmly wrapped around his tie as my other hand made its way around his neck, pulling him impossibly closer. One of Elijah's hands traveled up my back to the zipper of my dress, pulling it down quickly as he began trailing his mouth down the side of my neck. My nails dug into the back of his neck as my other hand worked to undo his tie.
My dress pooled around my feet as my hands moved on to his shirt, making quick work of the buttons. With a hand firmly wrapped around my waist, Elijah lifted me off the floor, walking towards his bed before placing me down on it.
His mouth disconnected from my neck as he stood at the foot of the bed, looking down at me as he undid my heels and tossed them aside. I sat up, wrapping my arms around his neck again to pull him down with me, our lips meeting again.
