Ch. 39 - Shock

Jungkook had never been nervous about being in front of people. His self-esteem is at the highest level that he thought he's mighty and high.

This morning, he was afraid to speak to Jin. After they had dinner, which was unusually silent, Jin went upstairs to sleep. Though Jin slept in their shared bedroom, Jin didn't hug him the whole night. He didn't try to make the first move to talk or cuddle because Jin had already had crises the night before. Perhaps, Jin was annoyed.

He stood at the kitchen door, watching Jin prepare his meals, frightened of speaking. When Jin finally looked up and got his eyes, Jungkook froze, his tongue narrowed, and he thought his heart was falling on his stomach.

"Hi! Good morning! You said you have an early breakfast meeting so I didn't make breakfast, but I made you a snack so that you could eat during the meeting.," Jin's cheerful voice kind of ease Jungkook's anxiety. He could breathe freely again as he entered the kitchen and took one of the chairs around the table..

"Good morning too, and thank you for waking up to prepare my meals. Did you eat your breakfast? You should. You should not get hungry or the baby will get hungry too."

Jin set eyes on Jungkook, which made him uncomfortable. He had no idea if he had said anything wrong. Trying to remember the words he just said, he knew he didn't say anything wrong to upset Jin.. "W-why?"

Jin pouted, his forehead creased, and he scrunched his nose. "No good morning kiss?"

Jungkook realized that he had indeed forgotten to kiss Jin. He was so worried that he forgot what he had to do every morning. On his feet, Jungkook drew Jin's wrist, snaking his arms around his waist, while the other hand went to the back of Jin's head. Leaning in, Jungkook kissed Jin deeply. Jin smiled in their kiss, he surely misses Jungkook as he fell asleep early last night.

Leaning his own on Jin's forehead, Jungkook stared at Jin's eyes. "Are you still mad at me? I'm sorry about last night."

Jin pouted, baffled. "I'm mad at you? I think I'm not mad. And I can't remember if you did something bad last night. And even if you did, I won't get mad."

"But you're not talking to me last night. Remember, I kept on asking you some things? Then you left me. You showered by yourself. I wanted to shower with you. You slept early, your back on me, and you have not even hugged me."

Jin giggled, finding Jungkook's face funny. Sure, he had never seen Jungkook acting like a child. He always sees him angry, forehead furrowed, expressions blank, and teeth gritted but today, and lately, Jungkook's face is always soft and cute.

"Why are you laughing?"

"I'm not. I just find you cute when you're like that. I'm not mad at you. I could not remember you telling me that you want to shower with me. So I shower alone. And last night, I just don't feel like talking because I was super sleepy. And about hugging you, that was unintentional. I fell asleep fast after I brushed my teeth. But I kissed you when I woke up this morning. But you're still asleep. I'm not mad at you. And I won't get mad. It's you who have been always mad at me."

Jungkook smiled. It's as if a big chunk of worry was taken out of his chest. He felt relieved that Jin wasn't mad. "Thank you. And I'm now relieved. By the way, you said I'm cute."

"Your expressions are cute. You are handsome," Jin corrected.

"Is that the reason why you fell in love with me?"

Jin looks dazed, peering intently at Jungkook's eyes. He was wondering why Jungkook has lots of questions from last night.
