Back in Frost.
Vermilion, wearing a black buttoned up shirt with a red bowtie, a black skirt that sat above her knees along with black tights that covered her skin, looked down at the Inquisitors with her sanguine eyes. Her long jet black hair smooth, it matched the black cloak she had been wearing to conceal herself.
She had a wide grin on her face as she looked down at the Inquisitors. Her grin mocking the Inquisitors from how they reacted to her.
"Is something wrong, Alpha? Don't you recognize me?"
None of the Inquisitors had recognized Vermilion. If Alpha was there instead of Paladin, he would've recognized Vermilion. But this failure of recognition was not the fault of the Inquisition. Vermilion had been acting in the shadows on the behalf of the Minotaur King. In Orion, in Frost, and in the rest of Sol. There was only one way for her to be discovered by the Inquisition, and it was for her to reveal herself.
"Who are you, woman?"
The Lord Inquisitor's eyes sharpened at Vermilion. His Dragon eyes' pupils became thin as he could feel the power radiating from her. It was unwelcoming. It was aggressive. It was defying. It reminded him of Orion, specifically Shane's room, the Septem Cathedral, and the rest of the Capital City.
The scent of the Minotaur King, that he smelled.
"Awwww... You don't remember, I'm disappointed... ahahaha..." Vermilion held a hand over her mouth and chuckled. "...If you were the other one, I would've been found out long ago. But luckily for me, I'm dealing with the shell of who he used to be."
Even though the Lord Inquisitor had inherited Alpha's blood and power, he had yet to inherit everything of Alpha. He had yet to fully inherit the Domination Covenant. Because of this lack of inheritance, the Lord Inquisitor was not who he was fully meant to be. He had yet to reach who he had to become.
The memories, the experiences and much more, all of it had yet to be unlocked.
Vermilion held out her right hand. Black Chaos flames appeared and formed a scythe right in her hand. When the scythe was fully formed by the flames, it was a red scythe that matched the balefulness of its owner.
"I am the servant to the King of Destruction, the holder of the Defiance Covenant, ...the Minotaur King," Vermilion proudly declared. She then took her scythe and pointed its crimson blade at the Inquisitors. "Inquisitors, you were invited to Frostaria under my direction. My intent is to make sure none of you three go back to Orion."
"...Hoh. That's a hefty statement..." the Lord Inquisitor placed his right hand on the grip of Excalibur. He was quietly preparing himself for a fight. Unlike before, he wouldn't have prepared himself. However, this time around, he felt threatened.
There's no way Vermilion can kill me.
However, there's no denying that she's strong. She has the strength to take on Alexon and Jingks, and is capable of killing either one of them.
Such an outcome would be unacceptable.
But... What was the point behind taking us to Frostaria? She could've attacked us in Orion. Better yet, what's the point behind her attacking us in general? She seems knowledgeable, so wouldn't she know that she can't defeat me? She'd have to if someone like me, who has no prior experience with her, can tell right away that she is no threat.
"...I'm a bit concerned, Paladin..."
"I'm concerned as well. Who is this Minotaur King? What does his servant in Frostaria mean for us and Orion? The first time we had a fight with a minotaur, the Great Burning Minotaur, it took a miracle for us to defeat the beast. The last one was defeated by you, but it cost the life of an Inquisitor. ...Will we need another miracle to defeat the Minotaur King?" the Time Manipulator asked.
