The day after Violet told her story to Paladin. Paladin, sitting down in the garden with Euclair standing next to him - watching him attentively, sips on tea she poured into a cup for him. And the moment the tiniest drip touches his taste buds, Paladin's face reacts - showing Euclair that he found the tea to be bitter.

"I see you aren't a fan of the tea," Euclair says.

Paladin puts down the cup and clears his throat

"It's a little too sweet for my tastes," I reply. "Curiously, who made this pot of tea - and why do they have to put so much sugar into it?"

"Auclair made it exactly to your specifications, Dragon King."

To my specifications?

"Last time I checked Euclair," I cross my arms, "I don't recall ever issuing out specific recipes for making tea."

And if I did I wouldn't have requested such sweet tea to be made. Like damn, did Auclair pour an entire bag of sugar into the teapot and think it would be fine?

"You specified what you wanted in the tea long ago," Euclair replies. "It was a very, very, very long time ago of course... But just because things change doesn't mean the recipe for the tea has to as well..."

I think in this case the recipe for the tea should absolutely be changed... Especially if I'm going to be drinking it every single day that I'm here - seeing that there aren't many other options when it comes to flavored drinks... surprisingly...

"Is it possible to make the tea less sweet?"
Euclair nods. "I'll put in a request with Auclair, it'll ultimately be up to her whether she wants to change it or not."

If Alpha was the one who made the recipe then shouldn't they change it without a second thought? I am Alpha's reincarnate after all... even if I don't deserve to be it.

"Dragon King, how have you been doing?"

Approaching Paladin from behind. Delta, no longer wearing the replicated all white armor of the Dragon King but instead wearing his own armor consisting of a green cape, his own green glowing eyes, and green trimming around each single piece of his armor.

"I'm doing fine... I guess..."

Paladin picks up the cup and takes another sip of tea - the tea tasting no different from before, and causing Paladin's eyes to open wide as he slams the tea cup onto the table

I'm done... I'm done... I'm not going to drink it anymore...

"You're still wearing your suit from the meeting," Delta mentions.

"Of course I am," I cross my arms, "it is a good looking suit after all - comfortable as well... Something about the black suit being enticing to me as well..."

"Is it enticing because of your recent experience and personality change?" he asks.

Paladin eyes narrow as he didn't take too kindly to the question. Something about Delta bringing up what has happened bothering him, something about Delta saying that Paladin potentially liked the color black only because of what he's experienced and because of the shift in his personality.

"That's an interesting theory... but a wrong one I guess..."

"I'm not sure if it's a wrong one," Delta responds, "but I guess we can have different opinions on the matter."

As Delta replies Paladin takes another sip of the bitter tea - the taste again bothering him, but instead of reacting like he did before he gently put down the tea cup while his eyes narrow - then crossing his arms
