The old man of House Benevolent had quite a lot of things to discuss with me, and to be completely honest, most of the things he was talking about were actually irrelevant to me - the Inquisition as well.
So when we found ourselves in a coffee shop in a nearby city, I allowed the man to continuously talk as I carefully listened for the information that was actually important, dissecting everything he said mentally.
After about an hour of listening to the man talk, I found out that he hadn't even gotten to the reason why he even contacted me, leaving me believing that he was just using me to as a way of expressing his thoughts, emotions, frustrations, and dreams - something he likely would've done if the old man had children.
I eventually turned around in the coffee shop, and when I did I found that both Damien and Lady Saber were both fast asleep. The both of them likely tired from the amount of work we had already put in today, and slowly fell asleep from the sound of the old man's voice - a voice which never stopped talking, not even to breathe.
I couldn't help but smile when I saw Lady Saber's cute sleeping face, her long silky blonde hair resting at her sides, her eyes closed as she quietly slept.
Maybe...
I could...
Just maybe...
...
No, I couldn't, it would be the wrong thing to do.
I'm the White Raven of the Inquisition, one of the six Inquisitors, and I don't have time for someone else like that. I need to focus on my duty... on my craft, not anyone else.
Anyways...
While I was admiring Lady Saber, the old man realized he was losing my attention, so quickly he changed the topic from... whatever he was talking about, to the actual reason he was there.
To summarize the conversation we had.
The man asked myself, Lady Saber, and Damien to follow him to the Benevolent mansion, where Lord Benevolent was waiting to speak with us - apparently over some tea. I asked the man why he wanted us to go to the Benevolent mansion with him, and the man explained that it wasn't him who wanted us to go to the Benevolent mansion, but it was instead Lord Benevolent - who really wanted to speak with an Inquisitor.
When I asked why Lord Benevolent wanted us there, the Benevolent servant explained that Lord Benevolent heard about the Inquisition's investigation into the New Generation, and he heard that I was leading the investigation. Therefore, he decided to send his servant to speak with me since he could potentially be of help.
Lord Benevolent was one of the Royal lords we suspected of being part of the New Generation, Lord Benevolent wasn't there on the Night of the Long Knives, but he also never showed up to the Capital City at all before, during, or after the fighting with the Legion of Death - avoiding us completely.
So we didn't visit him the first time around.
Lord Benevolent knew something, clearly, or else he wouldn't have gone out of his way to contact us. So... when Lady Saber and Damien both woke up, I explained what the old man explained to me, and I explained how I saw it.
This was a golden opportunity for finding out more information about the New Generation, and there wouldn't be another chance like this one anytime soon.
Both of them agreed without any second guessing that this was a golden opportunity for us, and that there was no way we could allow the opportunity to be wasted.
Therefore, we soon found ourselves sitting down on a red sofa in a room in the Benevolent mansion. The three of us sitting on the red sofa side by side, looking across at Lord Benevolent - who only had black underwear and a furry red jacket - drinking tea while sitting across from us.
