With the Dragon King and the Frostarian King both proceeding down the staircase, a game of cat and mouse was commenced. King Aveuis the mouse, and the Dragon King the cat.

King Aveuis was quick and small. In the dark hallways of the crypt below the ruined Frozen palace, it was difficult to find him. The way he maneuvered around the corners in complete darkness made it hard to keep track of him.

The Dragon King could've chased him harder. The darkness of the crypts didn't bother him because of his Dragon eyes, and keeping up with King Aveuis wasn't a problem. He could easily be right behind him. Although the key word is 'could' as the Dragon King didn't care if he lost King Aveuis. From what he was able to tell, all pathways in the crypt led to the same place in the end.

Everything pointed to him and King Aveuis being the only ones in the crypt. In the hallways where sounds echoed, only his footsteps could be continuously heard until they eventually reached their destination. But the Dragon King knew there were more people than just him down in the crypts.

After some time. The Dragon King stopped a few feet before the doorframe of the central chamber. He had heard footsteps that weren't his own or King Aveuis, so he looked over his shoulder to see who was following him.

It was Charlotte.

"...If you're going to watch. Stay shadowed and do not reveal yourself. There's no point in having you fight alongside me down here. The sorceress, General Zelox and King Aveuis won't get away."

Charlotte nodded. She understood that the Dragon King only wanted the last three enemies of Black Frostaria to himself and himself alone. He wasn't willing to share them with anyone else under any circumstances.

Was this some form of pride? Selfishness perhaps? Or was he protecting Charlotte from any potential timeline where she was harmed in some way?

Only the Dragon King knows the answer.

Onwards to the end. ...Black Frostaria, what will your fate be?

He stepped inside the central chamber and revealed himself to the enemies inside.

The chamber itself was brightly lit. Small blue stars shaped as circles floated around a center spire in the middle of the room. The spire went through a large hole in the ground and grew like a tree to the ceiling. In the center of the spire was a floating ice-blue orb.

He watched as the orb's color was rapidly disappearing. A black substance had encircled it and was corrupting its inside. Slowly but surely, the orb would be corrupted.

Next to the spire. The Grand Sorceress of Chaos could be seen. A hood covered her head and a mask covered her face, but it was clear she was unpleased by seeing him.
"...Fool!! King Aveuis, you brought the Dragon King Alpha down to the crypts?!! In what reasonable world, under what mindset, did you think that bringing him to me was smart?!!"

The Grand Sorceress spoke with an almost synthetic like voice. It seemed like it was enhanced by magicka and wasn't natural. Perhaps she died and was brought back to life?

"...He would've found his way down here either way. Besides. I want a chance at defeating him and absorbing his power."

"Without Vermilion or the Minotaur King, killing him and taking his power for yourself is impossible - you ignorant hick!! ...This costly mistake has now left us with no chance. He'll destroy us and take the Frostarian orb for himself!"

"If there's a will then there's certainly a way. The Dragon King can be defeated."

Yes, he's absolutely right. I can be defeated.
