Even with the close call, the fighting between me and the Reaper Queen continued on. Spouts of magic being thrown out at each other, more close calls with her scythe - albeit that one time it barely grazed my cheek and drew some blood - and further destruction to the town was all part of our battle.
And to be honest with you, I was actually having fun with it, even though neither one of us - so they claim - would die from the battle. The last time I avoided a strike from her Reaper scythe, I was floating in the sky and looked over at the central tower, immediately recognizing the breaking situation.
The force sent to the central tower was collapsing; the pawns not being able to hold themselves against the Reapers, and were completely outnumbered as it seems like almost everyone from the Reapers was sent to the middle.
Did the right flank get annihilated by the Reapers?
Either way, I was annoyed by the situation occurring in the center of the battlefield, the way the Reapers so easily pushed them back was just something I couldn't stand... infuriating actually, since there was at least one Inquisitor fighting in the middle - one of the stronger Inquisitors.
"We sent the majority of our forces to the middle," the Reaper Queen stated, obviously noticing that I wasn't paying attention to her and was instead focused on the middle. "We allowed our weaker soldiers to fight on the sides, except the right flank, where we sent only one soldier."
I'm disappointed in Noxious and Amy, the two of them unable to hold themselves against the force coming at them - albeit the force stronger - and putting us in a tricky situation here, since if the central force breaks both of our flanks will be put in a bad situation.
More importantly... What the fuck is going on with the right flank?
I don't see Messiah, Jingks or Lady Saber in the middle, so you mean to tell me that they're having trouble fighting one single Reaper?
My focus shifted to the battle situation, how our side's situation was quickly changing - going from being terrible to a god damn disaster - and I found myself thinking back to what the Reaper King said to me, about how there was another option out there for us, a more preferable option than having the two sides fight each other.
Honestly... at the rate this battle is going, the only way we can achieve victory is by seeking out the other option and trying to bring the Demons and Reapers to a treaty of sorts... Since if this battle ends in Reaper victory, the Demons will unleash the Demon Zealots upon the Demonlands once more - destruction of the Reapers being their goal - and we will have war that could cause even more destruction than the first one these two had.
"I wonder..." the Reaper Queen chuckled, "what will be your next move, Grand Wizard?"
Hmm...
I think the answer to your curiosity Reaper Queen is a simple one, isn't it?"
"Forbidden Magic, Forbidden Armory," I chanted.
Instead of having multiple grey floating vortexes appear behind me like before, a single - large in height and width - vortex appeared, and soon after appearing the head of a Giant-smashing halberd appeared with all its glory attached, aimed straight at its target.
I could see the Reaper Queen's eyes widen from the bottom right corner of my eye, and I turned to look down at her.
"I apologize for doing this..." I mentioned. "But I cannot allow this battle to rage on any longer, and I must put an end to it - here and now."
The Reaper Queen's eyes narrowed as she bit her lip, then giving her scythe a few practice swings as she leaped backwards - centering herself downrange with the halberd - and proceeded to fly for both me and the halberd.
