Chapter 34: To Charm Someone Is To Control Someone

Mammon was screaming as the four fell. Levi was looking around. "Still falling... still falling... still falling... Wow I wish this was a game and not real liiiiiiiiiife!"

Beel, as usual, was clutching his stomach. "Aww... I was hoping to eat that Madam Devian Hellfire-Baked Cheesecake..."

Ivy glared at him. "Is now the time to be thinking about your stomach?!"

Levi landed. "OW!"

Beel grunted. "UGH!"

Mammon groaned. "GUHUH!"

Levi moaned in pain as he sat up. "Owwwww..."

"Oh, YOU'RE in pain?! How d'ya think I feel with you guys on top of me?! Go on, get off me! You too, Ivy!"

Ivy slipped up and dusted herself off. Beel looked around. "Wait a minute. Are we where I think we are...?"

Levi groaned. "The underground labyrinth."

Ivy also groaned. "Why does fate hate us?"

Mammon also groaned. "Again?!"

Beel then perked up. "Hey, do you hear something?"

Ivy heard a lot of things with her sharp ears. Levi nodded. "... Yeah, like something big and heavy is sliding along the ground."

Ivy cursed. Mammon turned to Levi. "Levi, are you sure your tail isn't out right now? It's not hanging down and dragging on the ground?

"Hey, that's rude! Of course I don't have my tail out right now. That sound isn't coming from me."

"Okay, then what's makin' that noise?"

"I feel like I've heard this sound before. Relatively recently... and I'm sure it was here. You know, back when Henry 1.0 appeared..."

Oh crud. Ivy noticed the snake. The three she had pacts with near her person shouted upon noticing the serpentine creature. "Oh no... Henry 1.0...!"

Beel sounded the call. "RUN!"

Henry 1.0 hissed and gave chase. Mammon screeched. "AAAAAH! I can't believe THIS is happenin' again, too! I thought Asmo charmed this snake of yours, Levi! Why's it comin' after us?!"

Levi glared at him. "Because the charm wore off a long time ago!"

Beel turned to him. "This thing used to be your pet. Levi! Can't you do somethin'?!"

"If I could, don't you think I would've already?!"

"Okay then, grilled snake it is!"

"I TOLD you, NO! If you eat Henry 1.0, I'll eat YOU, Beel! That's a promise!"

Mammon turned to Ivy. "Come on, Ivy! Hurry!"

Ivy had a flashback to her dance with Solomon.

Ivy watched as Solomon placed a spell on her. "... There. I've put a spell on you. As of this moment, you have use of my powers for the next six hours. You should experience what it's like to control a demon and use his powers."

Ivy was snapped out of it by Mammon. "Hey, Ivy! What're you doin'?!"

Ivy then began the chant. "... Hear me, denizens of the darkness, you who are born of shadow and you who give birth to it. Hear me and do as I command! I call upon you to send forth one of your number!"

"Hey, I know that incantation. Whaddya think you're...?"

'Tune him out, Cosmos. Focus on regulating your breathing. Remember the chant as though it's as clear as the sun setting in the west and rising in the east. Tune everything out.'
