(this is a rewrite from the old book. Somebody requested a part two!)
(I need to go back and finish watching the movie, I got about halfway through lol)

You sat in the white void, burying your face into the black fur of your hoodie. Tears trickled down your cheek bones, staining the bones in lavender tracks. One night, you were hanging out with friends and family, the next morning, nothing but a white void.
You sat and tried to make yourself wake up, crying out for yours brothers, your friends, even going past your untrusting nature to call out for people you barely knew.
You called out for anyone.
But nobody came...
What felt like days upon days, you'd cry, sleep, and grow weaker without food. You awoke one day — or night, whatever time it was — to echoing footsteps. You cracked open your eyes, too weak to uncurl from your fetal position on your side. A skeleton with paint vials, a brush, and a soft-looking brown scarf was crouched in front of you.
"What happened here?"
You stared at him for a long moment, long enough to where he was about to speak again. "...Dunno..." You mumbled, your untrusting nature hissing in the back of your mind. Why did he look so much like...? "One night... I was with my family, the next morning..."
You trailed off, and he nodded, seeming to see the picture now.
"You remind me of someone, I think I can help you find 'em." He offered a soft smile, holding out a hand.
You eyed it for a long moment, not moving.
The skeleton hummed, pulling his hand back to reach into a pocket. "Here. Can't imagine how hungry you must be stuck here."
Your head lifted as he produced a small baggy. Inside was a chocolate bar and a taco.
Gone in less than ten seconds, and now you were staring at him expectantly, like a puppy waiting for more treats. He chuckled softly.
"My name's Ink, you can explain a bit more while we get you out of here."

It's been about a month after that day, you living with Ink until he moved you to Underswap, where the monsters had just reached the surface. Your untrusting side came back when you met them all. Thankfully, they understood, and refrained from touching or getting too close to you without your permission.
You were currently helping Swap and Chara move boxes from the Underground when a portal opened. Ink strode through, followed by Classic and Fell. Classic began glaring at Chara, and Fell was in awe of the sun behind him.
You tuned out their conversation, thinking on how they're all so much like your brother, yet at the same time they're not.
"—and Cross is apparently trying to rebuild the AU..."
You snapped back to attention when those words broke your thoughts, and you stepped around the boxes to get to Ink.
"Wait, did I hear that right? My brother's trying to rebuild our home?"
Ink gave you a pitiful look. "Yes, but I highly doubt it's going to work. He's taking pieces of other AU's to do it."
"We can't let him get away with that! He's hurting other people!"
Your expression turned downright sour. How could they be so blind!?
Your brother is rebuilding your home! They should be happy you get to live in your own AU again.
You turned away from their conversation, hiding behind the boxes again.
You turn at a soft tug on your sleeve, and you spot Chara staring up at you.

*Chara asks if you are alright.

"..." you shake your head, sitting down against a box, voice barely a whisper when you speak. "...They should be happy I get to go home soon, right?"
Chara mulled it over for a moment, obviously choosing their words with care.

*Chara tells you they believe both sides have some right. You should get to go home, but Cross hurting others to do so is bad.

You frown, quiet for a moment before you all catch the sound of terror from the city.
You jump to your feet, running around the boxes.
"What's going on?" Swap cries, worry clear on his face.
"Hell if I know!" Fell growled back.
Something struck in your soul, and you immediately shot off towards the city, Chara and the others hot on your heels.

Toriel had been hurt, in her words, by a rogue skeleton. Other than a cut on her face, she seemed alright.
"Where did he go?" Ink asked, and Papyrus began leading the group.
You found Cross in the middle of the field, power radiating off him in waves.
"Cross! You need to stop this!" Ink cried, trying to get to Cross. "Just return Classic's soul, alright?"
"No Ink! Why can't you understand? I need this soul to rebuild my world!"(my phone wanted to autocorrect soul to soup)
You were trembling, tears forming in the corners of your eye sockets at the sight of your oldest brother.
But before you could run to him, Papyrus scooped you off the ground. "No! It's too dangerous right now, you could get hurt!"
"LET ME GO!"

(lol cliffhanger)
