You gripped Kris' hand as he lead you into the school with Mom. It was the first day of the new school year, as well as your first day of middle school with Kris.
"Now you two be good, alright?" Toriel spoke as she turned to the both of you, patting your heads. "Kris make sure (Y/n) gets used to everything for me, alright?"
Kris gave her his usual silent thumbs up, earning a warm smile from her before she parted ways from the two of you. Gently, Kris pulled you along to your first class, looking a bit hesitant to let you go since you had different morning classes from each other.
After a warm hug from him, he let you go, letting you inside your classroom before heading to his.
Classes were alright, not many people bothered you, but your anxiety finally faded when your classes merged with Kris'.
"How have your classes been going?" He asked as you sat next to him, offering a soft smile.
"They've been okay." You replied, getting out your things. "Lunch is next right?"
Kris nodded, getting his things out as well. "I'll stick with you in the lunch line."

Lunch finally rolled around, and Kris walked with you in the lunch line, the both of you heading to his table to eat.
"You're in my spot." Someone growled behind you, Kris jumping to your defense before you had a chance to feel frightened.
"Leave my younger sibling alone, Susie." Kris growled back, looking mildly annoyed and protective.
You glanced behind you, seeing a purple dinosaur monster. She looked confused for a moment, before her eyes widened when she got a good look at you.
"Oh! I'm sorry! Didn't realize you were Kris' sibling." Susie smiled with a grin of teeth, looking apologetic before taking the seat on Kris' other side.
At that, Kris' tension melted a bit. Lunch was filled with jokes and wild adventurous stories, and eventually a deer named Noelle and a smug bird named Berdly joined you both.
Noelle cooed over how sweet and cute you were, making you smile. However, with a glance to Kris, you could see the daggers he was mentally sending to Berdly. (Sorry Kerdly shippers—(I know there's at least one in my audience -w-))
Thankfully, no other mishaps happened during lunch, and Kris was quick to lead you to your next class. He wasn't in the class, but thankfully, Noelle, and unfortunately, Berdly, were in the class with you.
Noelle instantly caught sight of you, sitting next to you with a kind smile. "I know how it is to start a new school year in a new area. Don't worry, you'll get used to it soon enough."
"Ah hello, Noelle and (Y/n)!" Berdly greeted, sitting at the desk on the other side of you, only to begin whispering at you. "Don't get too chummy with the sweet Noelle, you and Kris both have no chance with her!"
You hear Noelle huff next to you, quickly scribbling a note before handing it to you. With a glare to Berdly, you turn and hide the note with your body as you read it, your eyes scanning over the pretty cursive handwriting.
'Don't worry about Berdly too much! He acts smug and egotistical a lot but he isn't too mean.'
You nod at her, hiding the note before turning your attention to the teacher.
Class went by smoothly, and Noelle kindly walked you to the front of the school as the last bell rang. You texted Kris where you were, and listened as Noelle rambled on about the upcoming winter.
"Oh it's my favorite holiday! The white snow, the chilly weather, the warm hot cocoa!"
'Getting horribly sick from staying out too long.' You hummed in your head, remembering you'd thrown yourself into a week long cold after getting drenched by falling into a patch of ice cold water, and then choosing not to go inside to immediately dry off and warm up.
You remembered that week with a smile, Kris running around like a mother hen, thinking your demise was upon him.
You could sneeze and he'd think you'd coughed up a lung.
"Oh hi Kris and Susie!" Noelle's voice tugged you out of your thoughts, and you glanced up with a smile to your brother and new friends.
"Hey Noelle!" Kris greeted, tugging his coat around him a bit more, before taking your hand in his. "We should be heading home soon, Mom's making pie for desert after dinner."
"You better save us a slice Kris!" Susie barked with a grin, Noelle nodding in agreement.
"Your mom's pie is really delicious, so please save us some!"
"I'll make sure we do." You replied, letting Kris tug you out into the cold and on the path to home.
