You stared in shock as Asgore spoke. He had said there was simply no need for three reapers, simply ignoring the shocked and outraged looks from the others.
He then said you had to go, by either death or erasure. Your sockets went hollow, and before anyone could stop you, you teleported, diving into the floor in a black shadow before disappearing from the room completely. You were sure by the sharp sound of Asgore's voice giving a command and the noise that followed that one of Undyne's spears had missed you by seconds.
You were on the run now and you knew it.
But the ones after you would underestimate you, seeing as you look all too like a child.
You emerged into a safe space, one Gaster made for you and your brothers to escape the jeers and scowls from others.
Not many accepted death, more often scorning it for taking those they love.
"Asgore said you had to go, didn't he?"
You turn with a sharp gasp, curling up slightly at Gaster's towering presence.
Slowly, you relaxed and nodded. "I don't want to die, Gaster."
"I'm sure no one does."
"What do I do? Asgore's not really gonna... h-have me killed, is he?"
"If Asgore thinks it is for the best, he will."
"But... So many souls die every minute, why shouldn't there be a need for three reapers? Before me, Sans and Papyrus were nearly overworked!"
Gaster sighed softly, stepping forward to bring you into a hug. "I know, (Y/n). I'll try to talk him out of it, but for now, you need to hide, alright?"
"Okay." You murmured, returning the hug. "Asgore can't get in here, can he?"
"No, he cannot."
You let out a shuddering sigh of relief, letting Gaster pull away from the hug. You watched as he patted your skull, before turning and disappearing from sight.
Your brothers eventually found you, flocking you like a pair of worried hens.
"I'm okay, I'm okay!" You spoke softly, easing their worries. "Gaster said he was gonna talk with Asgore to try and change his mind."
"So you'll be staying here until he changes his mind?" Papyrus asked, worry etched into his features.
"What if he doesn't change his mind? What if he goes after us instead?" Sans inquired, a bit of fear and anger towards Asgore showing.
"I... I don't know..." You murmured, a frown appearing on your face.
You three sat in silence for a while, taking in each other's company.
"...We should go soon, Papyrus, we don't Asgore getting suspicious of us too." Sans murmured, getting to his feet.
Papyrus follow suit, and with a warm hug from each of them, you were left alone in this space. It was a cacophony of noise. Asgore still hadn't changed his mind, despite Gaster's efforts. You had been found and captured, now held before Asgore and the others.
Your brothers were held back, Alphys was already crying and Undyne, who stood before you, looked like she was going to begin crying as well.
Now you wonder if she missed her spear on purpose.
Even still, Gaster was at Asgore's side, doing his best to stop him or change his mind, looking the most upset you've ever seen him.
"Asgore, this is barbaric!" Gaster shouted.
"Go through with it, Undyne. What needs to be done needs to be done." Asgore ordered.
Undyne trembled, tears tracking down her cheeks, her words coming out softly. "...I can't... I can't do it."
With a curl in his lip, Asgore summoned his trident, marching forward and lifting it as he shoved Undyne aside.
Shouts rang throughout the room, your eyes locked onto the flaming points of the trident as it slammed down towards you.
Another white, furry hand grabbed the trident, halting it's swing in it's tracks.
"Asgore that is enough!" Toriel barked, tearing the weapon from his hands and breaking it.
"Toriel—!"
"You brought them into this world for balance! And now you want to disrupt that balance!? I will not allow it!"
Your brothers rushed forward, quick to untie you and pull you away from Asgore.
After a bit more bickering, Toriel ushered you and your brothers out of the room, everyone else trickling out one by one, leaving Asgore alone.
Let's just say he didn't have any problems with your being here after that.(Other requests might be out today, maybe not, depends on my writer's block)
