the office

"Everyone pack your things to leave," Sensei announced.

After school ended for the day, I was really tired and was looking forward to going home and watching television until I fell asleep. Though before I was able to, Sensei called out my name from his desk.

"And (l/n)," Aizawa added, "Stay after class. The principal wants to talk to you."

I closed my eyes, knowing that everyone's eyes were glued to me. I grunted, annoyed, and walked with Sensei around the halls toward the principal's office.

"You did that on purpose," I told him, "Didn't you, Sensei?"

"Did what?" he lied, "I only did what I was told."

The two of us walked into the office a few minutes later, and saw the mouse principal sitting on his desk, smiling blankly at me as I sat down and Aizawa stood beside him.

"(l/n)," the principal began, "Do you know why you're here today?"

I stopped to think, looking up.

"I guess it's because of my tardiness?" I said in a form of question, "I promise I don't do it intentionally. My alarm clock isn't working, so I get up-"

"It's not just that," Aizawa coldly declared, "You've been avoiding using your quirk ever since you got here. First it was the apprehension test, then the battle trials, and later today during sparring."

"What are you trying to say?"

"You see, (l/n)," the principal smiled, "Every single one of the students in UA are here to train and enhance their quirks to their maximum potential, so that one day they may become heroes of their own. All we want is for you to become the best hero you can be, just like your brother."

I looked away, irritated. I knew the only reason why they let me stay even after breaking so many rules was because my older brother was a top student here in UA. That was one of the reasons why the teachers, and even the principal, had patience with me.

"We may not know the reason for you refusing to use your quirk," Aizawa informed, "but all we want is what's best for you."

I slowly raised my head to meet their eyes and sighed.

"Alright," I shrugged, "I promise I'll use my quirk next time. But I'm not promising I won't bail on another fight."

Aizawa flinched, irritated.

"T-That's-!"

"There! Problem solved!" the principal cheered, "Now everyone's happy!"

The principal dismissed me, and I left the office quickly before Aizama was able to make me stay longer.
