~ Bakugou's POV ~
After we all heard what happened to them, we all left the training grounds and rushed inside the building. The teachers didn't let us see them since they were still in critical conditions and waiting for the doctor to attend them, so we were all moved to our rooms. I stayed in my own bedroom for a few hours, dealing with these jerks while they played video games on the tv. But I wasn't able to relax. I couldn't just sit by and do nothing while they were still sick, so I decided to find out how they were doing on my own.
I left my room, making sure there weren't any teachers around. I walked around the hallways of the camp, trying to find the room where they stayed. But when I turned the corner, I saw the doctor leave the room they stayed in, and noticed me before I was able to hide.
"You there," the doctor called, "Who are you?"
I knew it was pointless trying to hide, so I just walked up to her.
"I assume you're a close friend of (y/n)- I mean... (l/n), correct?"
"Yeah," I nodded, "I'm Bakugou. Bakugou Katsuki."
The doctor looked at me weird for some reason, but I just let it slide.
"I need to know if they're alright."
The doctor shook their head, unable to answer.
"Well, I'm afraid I'm bound to doctor-patient confidentiality, so I can't-"
"Please, just-!" I refrained myself from yelling, "Just... Tell me if they're alright."
The doctor kept staring at me for a long time without saying anything, but then closed her eyes as she began to explain.
"They are. But (l/n) is in a very critical condition. You need to let them rest, and mustn't be dist-"
"Are those their x-rays?" I interrupted on purpose.
The doctor sighed, rubbing her eyes with their fingers, irritated.
"Fine! If this'll make you go away," the doctor told me, "You're their friend, so I suppose there's no harm done."
The doctor pushed her glasses up her nose, looking at me, serious.
"(l/n) has low endurance and stamina, meaning they get tired easily due to their iron deficiency. Their quirk draws power from the iron in their blood, and this leads them to be sluggish and weak if they don't eat certain foods. I'm sure you were aware of that already considering what your teachers have told me about them."
That was when the doctor took out their x-rays. It displayed their lungs, and I noticed they were smaller and darker than regular ones.
"Even though (y/n) suffers from this, it wasn't what it made them faint," the doctor added, "The walls of their lungs are starting to get thinner, causing these organs to shrivel. This makes (y/n) cough, have shortness of breath and hyperventilate. They'll keep doing so if they don't take care of themselves."
The doctor put away the x-rays in her folder, sighing.
"They could die one day from asphyxiation if they aren't careful."
Even after telling me all of this, I was still a little confused. What would cause their lungs to do that? If it wasn't their iron deficiency that made them so fatigued and weak, then what was? Unless...
"Wait-" I paused, thinking, "T-That means they-!"
"Hey," the doctor mentioned, "Don't tell them I told you or I'll never hear the end of it."
The doctor walked away soon after our conversation. But before she left, she turned around to look at me.
"Take care of (y/n) for me, will you? They're lucky they have such a stubborn friend like you."
