playing with fire (part 2)

Todoroki and I walked outside the school building into a secluded area. The two of us stood in front of each other, staring into each other's eyes and began the fight when a single leaf landed in between us.

We exchanged a few blows at the beginning of the battle, but then we used our quirks. I used my chains to bind Todoroki, and he'd use his ice to shield himself. Flameo would also use his fire to fend off my attacks, and I'd throw my sickle at him or crush his ice with it.

In the end, Todoroki froze half of my body, leaving my torso free. Despite this, I couldn't move my legs, and as flameo walked toward me, claiming victory, he freed me.

"I guess we know who's the strongest now," I smirked, defeated.

"I know you were holding back," flameo told me.

I sighed, cleaning off the dirt from my clothes.

"You caught me," I said as I raised both of my hands in the air, "I can't really lie about that."

I started sweating a lot from the fight since flameo had used his fire quirk. So I decided to tie my light pink hair up into a ponytail, even though it turned a lot messier than I first anticipated.

"We should hang out more, flameo," I announced, "I've really missed you."

Todoroki flinched, nervous.

"W-What?"

"I've taken the others for granted, too," I added, "I bet Uraraka, Iida and Midoryia all hate me for ditching them. I've just been training a lot and haven't had the time to be with you guys."

"Ah. You were referring to that," flameo sighed, relieved, "I can't really speak for them, but I understand why you'd think so."

The two of us walked away from the academy together toward the entrance. Despite tying up my hair, I kept sweating a lot. And when I looked over at Todoroki, I noticed I was on his left side. So I walked over to his right to cool me down.

"What are you doing?" Todoroki asked.

"Your left side is just so damn hot, flameo," I admitted, "I can't handle the heat."

For some reason, what I said left him in total shock. Todoroki's eyes widened as his cheeks turned bright red from being so flustered.

"Besides. I can handle your right side just fine~" I teased.

"D-Dont say stuff like that, (y/n)," flameo ordered.

"What? Why?" I inquired, unable to understand.

"Never mind, (y/n)," Todoroki chuckled, "You're so oblivious sometimes, it amazes me."

To keep the conversation going, I mentioned flameo's odd hair.

"By the way, I've always wondered... What do you do to your hair to make it look like that, flameo?"

"What? What do you mean?" he inquired, "This is my natural hair color."

"No way, dude. It really suits you."

He looked up at his long bangs, taking a piece and examined it.

"You really think so, (y/n)?"

"Yeah."

The two of us smiled at each other, going our separate ways.
