That idiot hadn't come to school that day, and I knew they had skipped school on purpose. I was so irritated for some reason, and when I saw them skating around town after I left, I walked over to them to get some answers.
"Hey, dumbass!" I called out, "Why didn't you come to school today, huh?!"
They stopped after hearing my voice and looked over their shoulder, poker faced.
"Oh. Hey, firecrackers. What's up?"
I took a deep breath, ignoring the fact that she called me that.
"Just answer the damn question."
They sighed and kept on skateboarding, but I followed them from behind.
"Do you even care about going to school?! Are you gonna show up or what?" I questioned, "People would kill to attend UA! You're throwing away your position at the best hero academy there is by not-!"
"I'm more interested in skating than being in that school, really," they interrupted, "I just needed to take a break and think things through. That's all."
I stopped and glared at that idiot as they hopped out of her skateboard, carrying it under her arm.
"People like you piss me off so damn much!!"
They tilted her head sideways as if they didn't have a clue what I was saying.
"People like me?"
"Yeah, people like you!" I repeated, "People who want to become heroes only to slack off in the end! Why do you want to become a hero, anyways?! Because from what I've seen, you're just taking things like a joke!!"
They sighed, closing their eyes.
"I don't understand why you're so defensive here. I'm not your competition. It's not like I wanna become #1."
But before I was able to speak, they beat me to it.
"Besides," they added, "You're lucky I don't strive for such a foolish dream like that; because if I wanted to become the #1 hero, then you'd have no chance in beating me."
I shot them a dirty look, grinning my teeth as I grunted angrily.
"It's not a stupid dream!!" I declared, "And don't flatter yourself! You aren't much of a competition to begin with!"
They chuckled, grinning slyly.
"That's funny considering you haven't fought me, firecrackers."
I glared at that idiot, but I knew being angry at them wouldn't prove my point; especially to someone like them. I relaxed my posture and kept walking, ignoring their presence.
"Whatever," I stated, "It's not like I wanted to fight you, anyways."
Though just when I thought I'd finally be alone, that idiot followed me from behind until they caught up to me while riding their board.
"I didn't come to school today because I was sick," They explained, "But don't tell that to Sensei or anyone else, alright? I don't want to worry them."
A faint smile ran across their face as they pushed themselves to move a lot faster on their wheels, waving goodbye.
"See you tomorrow, firecrackers."
Though just as that idiot left, I noticed a hint of smoke hiding behind their silhouette. I couldn't quite discern where it was coming from, but I couldn't care any less.
