The past couple of weeks, Bakugou has trained me nonstop every single day. I knew from the start it wasn't going to be easy, but I never expected it to be virtually impossible. He'd made me run 10km around the track, do about 200 exercises and made me do all of this till I dropped. On many occasions, I felt like my body couldn't handle any more of his extreme training, but I knew if I stopped, I wouldn't hear the end of it.

I felt I was progressing every single day, and I felt so achieved when I got to a point where I could tolerate the burning pain of our regimen. Though today, I was really looking forward to sitting on my couch and watching tv all night long. But before I could escape, Bakugou caught me.

"And where do you think you're going?" he barked, "We have work to do!"

He guided me out of the classroom, and we met Kirishima outside in the hallways.

"Woah," Eijirou gasped, "What happened to you, (y/n)? You ok?"

I was slouching, powerless against Bakugou's stubborn persona.

"Bakugou's training me," I explained, "and if I stop, I'll never hear the end of it."

"That's right!" Bakugou declared, "And if you intend to give up, I'll drag you outside and force you to keep going, you idiot!"

After that, he directed me away from the hallways. Though I noticed Bakugou glared back at Kirishima before leaving and gave him this weird, stern look. I didn't know what that was about, but I didn't really care for it. I just wanted to take a break from training.

When we were done for the day, the two of us sat on the grassy field of the track, drinking water and staring at the academy building. We didn't really say much since we barely talked before we started training, but I already had a question in mind ever since we first started.

"Why are you doing this?"

Bakugou laid on the grass as he looked at the sky with his eyes closed.

"I don't know what you're talking about," he said as he folded his arms.

"Don't play dumb," I advised, "You know very well what I meant. I wanna know why you decided to help me."

Bakugou slowly opened his eyes, turning to me with a bashful expression.

"B-Because!" he stuttered, "You're my friend, you idiot."

My eyes widened, surprised.

"Aren't you?" he mumbled, embarrassed.

I kept on staring at Bakugou as he looked at me, but I was so shocked to hear him say that I spaced out, causing him to get even redder.

"W-Why aren't you saying anything, dumbass?!"

I recalled my conversation with his mom back when I met her. They probably told him I said he was my friend or else Bakugou wouldn't have said that.

"Oi!" Bakugou called out, "Are you listening to me?!"

When I finally snapped out of my own trance from Bakugou's loud voice, I closed my eyes and lowered my head, looking at the academy building, grinning.

"What are you smiling for?" Bakugou questioned, irritated.

I laid my body next to Bakugou, staring into the cloudy sky as he looked at me.

"I was only able to go this far because of you," I began, "To be honest, if you hadn't been pushing me to my limit, I probably would've given up by now."

I turned my head to face him, smiling for the first time at him.

"Thank you, Bakugou."

His eyes widened like never before, speechless. Bakugou's cheeks turned bright red from how flustered he was, and ended up looking the other way to hide his bashful expression.

"Tch. W-Whatever!" he stammered, "I-It's not like I really wanted to help you! Idiot..."

I giggled, making sure he couldn't hear me. I then stood up from the ground as Bakugo did, too, and I stretched my arms and legs. We walked away from the track as we made our way outside of school, walking along the sidewalk toward our homes.

"I just can't believe you said we were friends," I teased, "I always took you as a lone wolf kinda guy, firecrackers."

"T-That's-!"

I knew Bakugou was about to argue with me again, but he stopped himself from talking.

"You know, having friends doesn't make you weak or anything," I assured, "In fact, it makes you a lot stronger."

But before I let him say anything, I ran toward the other direction and waved at him goodbye.

"Well, I gotta get going now. See ya tomorrow, Bakugou."
