After a quiet day at district 21 with only paperwork, Teresa and Kim had decided to go grab some dinner. They were both going when Kevin asked to join them and, since it wasn't like they were going to have some girl talk, they agreed on letting him join them.
They ate at a quiet restaurant and afterwards went to Molly's. It was nice that Kevin had joined them since Teresa didn't actually know all that much about him.
At Molly's, with Teresa drinking her typical Shirley Temple and the others drinking beers, Kevin and Kim were telling Teresa stories of when they were partners on patrol and how Platt was worse to them than she was now.
"I mean... we got a car back with a scratch and I swear she'd send plagues our way." Kim says.
"She's definitely a little more kind to us now."
"Is she still like that with the ones on patrol?" Teresa questions.
"Probably." Kim says as she drinks her beer. "But how was she with you, when you were growing up?"
"Oh, she was always super nice to me. But I was also a child and not a cop working at 21."
"But now that I think about it," Kevin says, "if she hadn't been the way she was with us, I wouldn't have so many good memories on patrol."
"My favorite is definitely going to Kevin's buddy's garage to fix the broken mirror of our new patrol car, out of our own pocket, getting a call while the car was getting fixed. We ran God knows how many blocks to the scene, did our job, got the car as if it was brand new, got another call, everything went well and then we are returning to the car and this huge thing falls off of a construiction building the car was near to... If she could, Platt would have made sure Kevin and I were on patrol to the day we died."
"She was throwing daggers at us with her eyes when we got back to the district." Kevin remembers.
Teresa couldn't help but laugh at that.
"She does have those moments when she opens her eyes really wide and doesn't blink..." Teresa comments. "It feels like she's trying to burn your soul, doesn't it?"
"Exactly!" Kim agrees.
"But we all adore her for it, otherwise you wouldn't have said all those nice things to that reporter that was lurking around one day, right?" Teresa asks amused.
"She tricked me into saying all those nice things about her!" Kim defends.
"But you said all of that to save her job," Teresa pretends to be touched by it. "All that so that she could continue to scrutinize your head..."
"Whatever." Kim dismisses. "You know what would be fun? Us three, plus Adam, having a game night one of these days. It's cold out, we don't have to spend money while eating out, we have some fun even if we're tired from work..."
"I like it. I'm in." Teresa quickly agrees. "But, we still have to have a girls night, Kim. Sylvie has been asking about it."
"We can have the girls night in the same night," Kevin joked. "Adam and I won't even say a word."
"Funny," Kim says unamused.
"I mean... I don't know, Kim..." Teresa says with narrowed eyes. "I'm picturing Kevin and Adam with makeup on and wearing dresses... I could see them participating in the girls' night." She mocks.
"On second thought, Adam and I would just be in your way, so... we'll just leave you gals to it."
At the end of the night Teresa offered to pay for the drinks and then went back to Will's place on her own.
