*forgot to post this one before "Just Let Me Go" as it was planned... yikes. Didn't know if I should just re-arrange it and put this chapter after "Just Let Me Go", but I didn't know if it'd make sense because of the days... anyway, here it is*

"Sergeant Voight, Detective Halstead," a woman greets them as they walk into the Gangs unit floor.

They had called on the way, wanting to have the files pulled out quickly so that they could get moving and not just jump in there without being announced, so they were expected.

"I'm Detective Riley," the woman says as she shakes their hands. "My Sergeant isn't able to speak with you on such short notice, but I'll be in charge of answering whatever questions you have. If you'd follow me to a more private room," she says as she starts walking away.

They go into a big room, with a big oval table and large windows on a side of it. There was water set down and a box of files on the table.

"This is a case we haven't closed, yet," Detective Riley informs. "So, maybe you can help us with it. Since you're interested, I'm guessing something has led you to this case as well."

"Something indeed has."

Detective Riley took a seat and so this the men. She stared at them, as if waiting for them to speak more about why they wanted information.

"We can't share it, it's classified," Voight tells. "But the names of the people in that house popped up."

"Yeah, I'm sure they'll pop up in a lot of things. These guys were neck deep in all types of things. We and Narcotics were working closely to get them all. We had a pretty solid case, but by the time we were ready to go and get them, they were all dead."

"What was the murder weapon?" Jay asks.

"We couldn't find it. Whoever did it took the weapon with them. But it's a large knife. We don't have a specific model in mind, but..." she opens the files' box and takes out some papers before selecting on and sliding it over to them, "here's a small list of the possibilities."

One of the knives on the paper caught Jay's eyes, but he didn't say anything.

"And you have a list of suspects?"

Detective Riley shrugs. "We've spoken to our initial suspects, but there was nothing there. All of them had alibis."

"Who were the suspects?"

"Friends and family, other gang members that we could get to talk to us, anyone who had been in and out of that house..."

"You have nothing there?" Voight asks suspiciously.

"Nothing to go on, no. There were a lot of fingerprint sets across the house, we were able to link some to our suspects, but with people going in and out of the house fingerprints could mean nothing."

"Why were they in and out of the house?"

"They say they were friends going to hang out, have dinners... We know they were there selling and buying drugs, but we can't prove that. And we don't really want to. We want to get the killer, not a bunch of harmless addicts."

"Can we look at the list of suspects?"

"Yeah, sure," Detective Riley says before handing them another paper.

They talk more about the case and see more files. It was unsolved and with no leads anywhere. Detective Riley would be open to have Intelligence take over as she only wanted the case solved and settled. However, it was the Sergeants decision, and not just Gangs, Narcotics had also been involved in it many months, even longer than Gangs, so Intelligence wouldn't completely take over.

"Thank you for your time, Detective Riley," Voight says as they leave the room.

"My pleasure, Sergeant Voight."

The drive to the district was a quiet one as Jay looked over the many documents lent to them about the entire case. They had everyone's priors as the case Gangs and Narcotics had built against them.

"Adam, Kevin, what do you got?" Voight asks.

"Nothing at all. Apart from them attacking Teresa there are no links between them. We've checked Teresa's calls, but apart from her brothers, Will Halstead and people within the CPD, there's no other calls," Kevin informs.

"All right, well Gangs gave us a lot of files, so we're going to run them all through, see if we can find anything at all."

Jay starts filling in the board with key information they already got. Kim and Antonio arrive a few minutes later with a smaller box of files from Narcotics.

"And we don't have even a clue on who killed them?" Adam asks.

"Not one. Everyone who's a suspect was cleared."

"Would Teresa know about this?" Kevin wonders. "I mean... she knew who they were, Theodor told her, right? So maybe she found out too much? Got in too deep?"

"You think she witnessed the murder or something?" Kim asks.

"It's a possibility. And maybe the killer saw her... I don't know, there's a lot of 'ifs' in this and not many certainties."

"What if they killed her too?" Jay asks with concern.

"It's a possibility. It always is," Voight says with honesty. "Especially if we're going with the possibility that she knew what had happened and was hiding it from all of us. Like she hid Theodor."

"Okay... well," Jay starts not liking that possibility at all. "Maybe we should look at other possibilities. Like her going missing has nothing to do with this case and these dead guys."

"This is the only thing we have, Jay," Voight says. "So, we're picking this up and tearing everything we can on this apart, got it? I want every detail on this case and I want it solved."

"No, we shouldn't pick up this case and focus on this," Jay disagrees. "It's a possibility that this has to do with Teresa going missing, but it could not. Maybe some perv knocked her out and kidnapped her. Maybe she has a stalker who planned the whole thing."

"We have no indications on any of that," Voight says. "We have to go with what we have. Get to work everybody!"

Throughout the rest of the evening, they have nothing to go on, but try to get more details on the case Gangs and Narcotics were unable to solve. As the night started dragging the team members started leaving to go and get some rest.

When Antonio left, he told Jay to go as well, since they and Voight were the last ones there, and Jay said he'd go soon.

However, when Antonio left, Jay stood up and went to Voight's office. Since they had their talk with Detective Riley one thing had been on his mind and he needed to let Voight know about.

"Sarge, can I talk to you?"

"Take a seat," Voight tells him. "What is it?"

"I understand that we don't have much to go on, but if we're linking her disappearance to this case then I think we need to look at it from another angle."

"What angle is that, Jay?"

"I don't know which one I hate to think about more, but her being alive is certainly better than her being dead."

"You gotta elaborate on that, 'cause I'm not following."

"What if she was the one that killed the guys?" Jay lets out.

Even Voight was left speechless with that accusation, especially coming from Teresa's partner.

"Excuse me?"

"It's been on my mind since we saw the list of the possible weapons on the murders," Jay says. "A KA-BAR fits the description. Teresa has a KA-BAR. And she had motive, the guys almost killed her for what Theodor did. She knew where they lived, and she kept all of it a secret from us. She argued with her brothers about keeping Theodor hidden, Will said she wasn't being herself, she had been losing sleep over something..."

"Jay," Voight stopped him. "Is this the route you want to take? Accusing your partner of murdering 7 people with her KA-BAR?"

Jay just stared at Voight and remained in silence.
