Why Didn't She Tell Us?

Antonio and Kim get Theodor upstairs. When they show up, Voight comes out of his office to see who they were bringing in. He nods, knowing Antonio was taking him to the interview room, leaving the option for the cage for later, in case Theodor doesn't speak.

They leave Theodor alone in the room and go to the one next door to see him through the two-way mirror.

"He was at the house," Antonio says. "Apparently, he's been there for a while now and... well, Teresa knew about it."

"But she knew we still had that investigation on going, and needed him to find the guys?"

"We believe so," Kim says. "She made sure that no one would know Theodor was back. Her youngest brother was supposed to keep an eye on him and not even let him out of the house."

"All right. Let's get everything we can out of him. Starting with the people who were after him and attacked Teresa and find out why she wanted him being back a secret to everyone. Antonio, with me."

"Actually, Sarge," Jay stops him. "I would appreciate being in the room."

Voight looks at Antonio, wanting his opinion.

"Honestly, I don't mind skipping on being in a room with him. I might actually punch the guy in the face, after everything he said in the car..."

"All right. Jay, let's go."

"Why didn't she tell us?" Kim asks Antonio. "We could have helped her with whatever was going on."

"I think that's just it. Whatever was going on, she didn't want us to know."

Jay and Voight enter and Theodor smiles up at them.

"Ready to let me go?"

"Not even close," Jay replies serious.

"I already said to those two other useless cops that I don't know anything."

"Well, we've heard that you said something along the lines of 'why would I say something if it might get me arrested'," Voight says as he sits down across the table from Theodor. "Which means you know something."

"What I know is that Teresa can take care of herself, and she wouldn't want me talking to the cops," Theodor says relaxed.

"You also know something about some drugs that you stole and took to your house," Voight points out. "And now we want to know about that."

Jay pulls out the photos they took of Teresa at the hospital after the attack she suffered at her house, so Theodor could see the result of his actions.

"This is Teresa a day after she had her head sliced open when two guys you stole drugs from came into your house. It's a miracle she didn't sustain long-lasting injuries, or even died. She was very, very lucky."

"So, who did you steal the drugs from?"

"What drugs?" Theodor plays dumb.

"The drugs you stole and took into your house. You've done that many times?" Voight asks rhetorically. "We're talking about the most recent time, if it helps you remember."

"I do not steal, nor have I ever stolen any drugs."

"Look, you don't want to go to jail? Then you start talking. Because giving us information that can help us find Teresa is the only way you're not going to jail, got it?" Voight threatens.

"Right, because after everything, you'd let me walk free," Theodor chuckles, amused.

"If you walking free is the price to pay to have Teresa returned safe and sound, than that's what'll happen," Voight admits.

There were a few moments of silence and then Theodor starts saying what he knew about the people but kept claiming that he had no hand on the stolen drugs at all, which Theodor and Jay knew was a blunt lie, but ignored.

They got first names and an address, so they left the room to get to work.

When they were back in the bullpen, Adam and Kevin arrived.

"So, we talked to Will about Teresa, he doesn't know anything at all," Kevin says.

"He also said that the fight he had with Teresa was solved quickly," Adam adds.

"What fight?" Voight questions confused.

Jay also straightens up, knowing what they were talking about and slightly angry that they even brought it up as if Will was someone they should be concerned about.

"Antonio said that a few days ago Teresa was upset about a fight with Will."

"Yeah, she called me to go boxing, let out some steam."

"But they worked it out," Jay points out. "And it wasn't a fight, it was a small argument."

"Still worth asking about," Antonio says.

"Yeah, it kind of let us know on where to pull with Tyler," Kim agrees. "Knowing that there were some texts that led to an argument is the reason why Tyler let us in to show us Theodor."

"Okay, but let's not call it a fight," Jay insists.

"Since we were also in the hospital, we talked with Connor since he and Teresa were together back in the day," Kevin says. "We asked if he knew any place where she might go to, anyone she'd talk to, but we got nothing from him."

"All he said was that they were never in Chicago together," Adam adds. "There is no particular place in Chicago that he remembers her talking about. Chicago wasn't big on them... He also never recalls her saying that she'd like to run away to anywhere."

"Trudy also says the same thing," Voight tells. "Teresa was never a big fan of this city, when she was out of duty she didn't usually come here, and she doesn't know many people around here either."

"Where are we at?" Kevin asks.

"Teresa's father, who was out of the city, apparently was not. We interrogated him on the people who were after him and ended up attacking Teresa at her place. He gave us a couple names and an address, so we're working on it," Antonio quickly informs.

"Really?" Adam asks interested.

"Yeah, I'm trying to see the name the house from the address was under and see if that matches any name Theodor gave us," Jay says.

It was only another minute until Jay was able to find the documentation on the man the house belonged to. The alarm sounded inside his head as the man had recently been killed. Without saying anything to the team, he looked into the files about his death and was able to connect him and the whole case with more names, two of which were the ones Theodor gave them.

"Guys, I found something!" he calls out. "The house that Theodor mentioned belonged to a Jerry Miller. He was killed a couple of weeks ago."

"Killed? How?"

"Throat slit with a knife. And he wasn't the only one. Gangs and narcotics worked on this together. We should go and talk to them about it."

"Who else was killed?" Voight asks.

"Five others including the two names Theodor gave us. The weapon was the same, a large knife, but the methods were different. Some were cut, others stabbed."

"All right, let's go speak with gangs and narcotics. Antonio, Kim, you two go to narcs, Jay and I will go to gangs, Kevin and Adam, try to link these guys with Teresa."
