This episode is going to have a LOT of Latin, for that reason I’ll give a rough translation in [these brackets] after each burst. I’m using an online translator (not google translate) so I hope they’re fairly accurate lol XD

Alice pulls the remaining books from her locker, sliding them neatly into her school bag. Some of the seniors had decided to leave clearing out their lockers until today, since they could just show up extra early to do so since there wasn’t much else they had to do.
A slight creak next to her caused her to look up and close her locker door slightly, coming face to face with the familiar orange haired Josh. He has that cheeky grin plastered on his face as per usual.
“Good morning my lady!” he announces "how are you feeling this fine winter morning?"
                              Alice only groans loudly.
“Come on Josh, we don’t have time for your stupid jokes”
“Oh that’s just cold, I’m being serious”
Alice gives him a deadpan stare.
“I’m no one’s lady, most definitely not yours.” she replies “It’s not like you’re my boyfriend”
“No…” he says slowly, sounding a little disheartened but his covers it up quickly “But I’m your best friend…?”
It came out as more of a question than a statement…
“No, that place belongs to Ngadria” Alice replies, leaning down and zipping up her school bag.
Josh stands up straight looking down at her with a hint of concern in his eyes.
                              “....Oldest friend…?” he questions.
Alice just shakes her head, standing back up with her bag slung over her shoulder.
                              “That’s Vera and Sky”
Josh sighs, sensing he’s not getting anywhere with this conversation and changes topic.
“Hey, speaking of them two, I heard from one of their friends...uh...Jacob I think? Anyway, I heard that you got a spot on the Ore Beach netball team…?”
“Yeah” she replies as she starts walking off.
Josh follows after a bit like a lost puppy.
“I’m surprised I had to hear it from some kid I barely know and you know...not from well..you”
“What do I have to tell you everything?” Alice asks, raising an eyebrow.
Josh shakes his head looking away.
“I mean, I guess you don’t have to...but...you know...while I certainly didn’t think I’d be the first one told...I thought I’d at least be told by you…” he sighs, shoving his hands in his pockets “This means you’ll be away from Ore Beach a lot next year right…?”
“Starting from just after christmas I’ll be training with my new team” she explains “But yeah, I’ll be away at competitions a lot.”
“I’m gonna be lonely without you”
“You’re going to the same uni as Ngadria and it isn’t my fault that you act like a clown all the time. If you didn’t you wouldn’t be clinging to me all the time Josh”
                              “Not true…” he mutters.
                              “What was that?”
                              “Nothing…”
Alice’s harsh gaze softens and she puts a hand on Josh’s shoulder.
“Look, we gotta grow up sometime, we can’t stay kids forever. Even if life means we won’t get to hang out much anymore” she smiles “Now come on already, before we’re late”
